Johnny Galecki has become a certifiable star thanks to The Big Bang Theory, but did you know he's been in acting a lot longer than that!? Tinseltown has been home to Galecki for most of his life and he's got the credits to prove it. From family favorites to after-school sitcoms, Galecki has been a working actor since his youth, but his role in The Big Bang Theory elevated him to be one of the highest-paid actors on television. But, sometimes there are things that stars like to keep under wraps.

It could be the occasional embarrassing role, cameo or tidbit of information that you'd rather keep close to one's chest. Every actor has things they'd rather the public forgets, and Johnny Galecki is no exception. Here is a list of some of the things we feel that Johnny Galecki would rather keep on the DL.

15 He Appeared In A Music Video For Dave Matthew's Band

There is a lot of regret to be found in the '90s, from ill-advised hairstyles to cringe-worthy slang, but Galecki found an unexpected route to eventual television stardom via one of the biggest bands of the era. If you pay close attention to the music video from Satellite by Dave Matthews Band, you'll spot Galecki in one of his earlier televised appearances. If you're curious, it's at about the 5:00 mark in this interview with the actor. "That was before it was kinda cool to do music videos," Galecki admitted in the interview.

14 He's On The Shorter Side

Although it's nothing to be ashamed of, Hollywood can be a tough town for those with any sort of insecurities. Galecki himself uses self-deprecating humor to address the fact that his statue is not that...statuesque. He stands at about 5'5" which is average height but relatively short in tv land. But, there are a few other actors and actresses who are shorter than you imagined. It's all movie magic!

13 For A While, People Thought He Was Gay

Just as The Big Bang Theory was getting popular, rumors started popping up around Johnny Galecki's sexuality. But he wasn't quick to squash the rumors for one very simple reason. "I've never really addressed those rumors cause I always figured why defend yourself against something that's not offensive," he quipped while being interviewed on The View. In fact, lots of Hollywood stars have had their sexualities questioned. By now, it seems like a right of passage.

12 He Studied Plumbing

As any actor can tell you, the road to Hollywood success is not easy or guaranteed. Though Galecki found a lot of success earlier in his career, as he aged, he found that roles were harder to come by. In this interview with ET, Galecki admitted to having been living in Wisconsin and studying plumbing before being cast on The Big Bang Theory. "I know it sounds crazy...There [have] been a lot of peaks and valleys. I feel very fortunate and I'm grateful for all of them."

11 He Has An Interesting Nickname

Back in his school days, youngster Galecki found himself attending an INXS concert, as one that age would do. Unfortunately, on his way back home, he was jumped by a group of boys and one of his Nike Pump shoes was stolen. In school the next day, his friends christened him with the nickname "One Pump". "Yea, still living that down," Galecki admitted to James Corden.

10 He Was On His Own As A Teen

Some might say that fourteen is a little young to be on your own, but Johnny Galecki is not one of them. He started making a name for himself in Hollywood, alone at the tender age of fifteen while his parents were back in Chicago, according to this interview with The View back in 201o. "I was working in LA and it was only supposed to be there for three weeks," he admitted, but as we all know now, it ended up being much longer than that!

9 John Goodman Took Him To His First Strip Club

While starring on Roseanne, a young Galecki was living alone in Los Angeles. It seems like John Goodman took it upon himself to teach Galecki the ropes both on and off-screen. In an interview with Stephen Colbert, Galecki admitted that Goodman had been the one to introduce him to adult entertainment. "It was a long time ago! We were kids! Sorry John," he joked.

8 He Lives With Ghosts

In an interview with James Corden, Johnny Galecki confesses to believing in the supernatural and actually cohabiting with said spirits. "I [also] have a rule that we don't talk about it inside the house," he admitted. "I did break that rule one night, when some friends and I were in the kitchen," he explained. He went on to describe how his friends were chatting about the things they had experienced while staying in the house. He tried to tell them to move the conversation outside, but they refused. One friend said she didn't notice anything, which was a big mistake. "And the oven light exploded over her head. I just looked at everyone and said, 'Shhhh.'"

7 The Glasses Are A Lie

Leonard Hofstadter would never go anywhere without wearing his iconic glasses. It's what completes his look and it was a deliberate acting choice by Galecki to have his character don the spectacles. But, he admits that they are not real. "Aw man! You're killing the magic Bill!" Galecki teased during the interview with Huffpost. He also admitted during the interview that he had to pop out the lenses since they would often create a glare toward the camera because of the strong studio lights.

6 He's Been Nude For A Role

Before his role in The Big Bang Theory, Johnny Galecki had performed on Broadway. In a show called The Little Dog Laughed, Galecki played a character Alex, an apparent hustler, which called for full-frontal nudity in one of the scenes. Galecki jokingly brought up the show when talking about guest star George Takei's apparent love for his performance. "He mentioned that he had seen it and that he had come back three times to see it," he told Conan in an interview.
