The life of Ryan Reynolds, the Canadian-born actor-comedian, has been as exciting as his roles in the movies. The handsome and talented actor has a great sense of humor and is known for the characters he played in films such as Deadpool, Green Lantern, Buried, Blade: Trinity, The Proposal, and many more. In real life, he accomplishes almost impossible tasks through sheer perseverance. He never calls it quits, come what may.

He began his career as an actor at the age of 13, dropped out from college to pursue acting, and went to great lengths to make his Hollywood dreams come true. From quitting a film to be with a girl to jumping off a plane to do a stunt (and almost losing his life when his parachute did not open), he has never shied away from following his heart or backed out of taking risks.

Here are 15 unflattering facts about the actor’s past, which show a different side of the charming actor.

15 Ryan Was A Late Bloomer

While appearing on The Graham Norton Show, Ryan Reynolds revealed that he was a slow kid. This delayed development was the reason why he was not lucky with girls at school. He said he went through puberty at 27, but it's pretty clear he was joking about that unless he's a medical miracle.

Regardless, he developed late and that was hard for him. He said that the late-blooming did freak him out.

14 He Failed At Mathematics

In many interviews, Ryan openly admitted that he struggled to do math at school. On the Variety Actors on Actors talk show, he said that he told the actress, Taraji P. Henson, that he and Hugh Jackman bonded over the fact that they both flunked math. He's also said that he was ridiculed for flunking by his classmates, who would ask him if he knew how to put his pants on.

13 He Failed His Drama Class In High School

The actor with the astounding fan following failed his drama class in high school. Refinery 29 reported that Ryan revealed this secret after winning an award for acting. 12 He Was Creative At Impressing Girls In School

Back in school, Ryan would think of creative ways to impress girls. He did not accomplish much, though. Recounting those days, Ryan told Glamour that when he had his first crush as a kid, he would board the wrong bus to sit beside a girl he liked. The bus would go in the opposite direction of his home. Yet, he would board it purposely to sit next to the girl for 45 minutes.
