Now that The Office has been removed from Netflix and added to Peacock, a lot of fans aren’t too happy about the circumstances. It doesn’t take away from the many years that fans were able to stream the show on Netflix and form opinions about which couples were the best and which couples simply should have never happened.

Whether a couple on The Office was "meant to be" or only existed for some sort of comedic relief, ALL of the couples in The Office have been memorable for their own reasons.

10 Shouldn’t Have Happened: Michael & Jan

To start this list off, it is obvious that Michael and Jan had no business being together. Their relationship was TOXIC. Is there a better word that can be used to describe the romance between these two? After Jan found herself unemployed, she moved in with Michael to his condo and began to micromanage his entire life. The micromanagement turned into verbal abuse because she was able to use her master manipulation skills against him. Thankfully, these two did not end up together. It would’ve been tragic if Michael had continued to try with her. Who remembers the dinner party episode? Everyone.

9 We Loved: Pete & Erin

After Andy ditched Erin to go spend several months out on a boat in the middle of the ocean, it left Erin feeling… abandoned and unwanted. Andy was not a great boyfriend to Erin, if we’re being completely honest! The fact of the matter is that she deserved someone so much better. She deserved someone who was going to treat her with respect and love! That’s why it made so much sense when she started dating Pete. Pete had a lot of respect for her and even though he knew that she was a little bit of an airhead, he still loved her anyway.

8 Shouldn’t Have Happened: Roy & Pam

The relationship between Roy and Pam is clearly one that was formed during their high school years since Pam referenced the time that they went to a high school dance together. The relationship between them lasted simply out of comfort and familiarity. Pam was always scared to put herself out there, take risks, or try anything new. She thought that she was supposed to stay with Roy just because they had such a long history together. In reality, he never valued her the way that he was supposed to.

7 We Loved: Bob Vance & Phyllis

Bob Vance and Phyllis got together and it was pretty shocking, according to Michael Scott! Phyllis never really spoke up about the relationship until she was ready to show off her engagement ring to everyone in the office. It just goes to show that Phyllis never felt the need to brag about her relationship as it was on its way moving in the right direction. Michael described the fact that Phyllis was getting married as being “amazing" and reminded everyone in the office that they all had a chance for love.

6 Shouldn’t Have Happened: Gabe & Erin

Erin revealed that she only got into a relationship with Gabe because he was her superior. If he wasn’t someone who worked above her in the office, she would not have accepted the first date invite. She revealed to Jim and Pam that she preferred eating lunch alone in her car over having to eat lunch with Gabe. If that isn’t a clear indication that the couple was not meant to be together then what else is?! Then she dumped him on stage at the Dundie awards.

5 We Loved: Jim & Pam

Jim and Pam are obviously one of the most ideal couples to emulate. They started off as friends and ended up married with kids. Watching Jim pine over Pam for years while she wasted time with Roy was absolutely dreadful.

But honestly, it made it so much more impactful and amazing when we finally got to see the two of them get together. It was like we could all finally sigh a breath of relief! Their relationship got a little bit rocky towards the end of the show but all relationships go through rough patches. They were able to overcome the negativity.

4 Shouldn’t Have Happened: Jim & Katy

Jim and Katy should’ve never gotten together. It is clear that Jim was simply dating Katy to distract himself from his feelings for Pam. So in other words, he was using Katy. Katy was way too nice of a young woman to be used in such a mean way. Then to add fuel to the fire, Jim dumped Katy on a booze cruise ship in the middle of the water. He should’ve waited until the boat was at least at the shore to end the relationship.

3 We Loved: Dwight & Angela

Dwight and Angela have one of the most adorable relationships to exist on television. The lows of their relationship revolved around the death of her cat Sprinkles, her temporary engagement to marry Andy Bernard, and the fact that they had to keep their entire relationship a secret from the rest of the office out of fear of being judged.

The highs of their relationship revolve around all the moments they shared where they were completely there for each other. Who remembers when Dwight held the microphone for Angela while she sang her favorite Christmas song.

2 Shouldn’t Have Happened: Oscar & The Senator

Angela’s relationship with the senator shouldn’t have happened, but not because of Angela. She had no idea that she was marrying someone who was blatantly lying to her. That being said, the relationship between Oscar and the senator is actually so much worse because Oscar was willingly helping the senator cheat on Angela for an extended amount of time. Angela called him out on his behavior when she found out and told him that friends don’t do that to each other. And she was right.

1 We Loved: Michael & Holly

From the very first moment that Michael and Holly connected by mimicking fictional character voices in the office, it was clear as day that the two of them were meant to be together. They had way too many things in common! After Holly ended up getting transferred, it made fans wonder what the outcome of this relationship would really be. Michael’s reconciliation with Holly made everything worthwhile. The way he proposed to her in an office full of lit candles (causing the smoke detectors & water hoses to go off) was the icing on top of the cake.
