Summary

  • Angela Deem's public meltdown over Michael Ilesanmi's successful GoFundMe for legal fees left her incensed.
  • Fans were quick to support Michael, with donations exceeding the $25,000 goal set for his legal defense.
  • Angela's attempt to trigger Michael's deportation backfired as American contributors rallied behind him.

90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After fans have been watching the slow-moving breakup of Angela Deem and Michael Ilesanmi all summer, and Angela was apoplectic in a recent TikTok she made about the situation.

Before we get into Angela's TikTok – which is certainly intense – there are so many things to recap from the still-airing Happily Ever After? Tell Alls alone.

Editor’s note: This article contains mentions of alleged domestic abuse, and related topics that could be triggering for some readers and survivors. If you or someone you know is in need of assistance, please visit thehotline.org for assistance 24/7.

We don't even have to go back all that far to recap this 90 Day Fiancé nightmare from the most recent beginning.

On August 6, we covered the sincere disgust and occasional trauma reported by 90 Day Fiancé viewers as they watched Angela verbally – and, arguably, physically – attack Michael in the first Tell All.

Two days later, news broke that Angela had filed for a marital annulment rather than a divorce.

Fans suspected the move was undertaken in a sideways attempt by Angela to see to Michael's putative deportation.

What's The Difference Between A Divorce And An Annulment, Anyway?: A "divorce" is the dissolution of a marriage, formally ending it as an agreement between two parties.

An annulment is far harder to obtain, and it voids the marriage, as if it had never happened in the first place.

Would you be surprised to learn 90 Day Fiancé's viewers were right?

Angela's petition for an annulment was briefly revealed by Michael on Instagram Stories, and a portion at the bottom evidenced Angela's attempt to remove Michael from the United States:

"Grounds for the Annulment: The respondent [Michael Ilesanmi] fraudulently induced Petitioner [Angela Deem] into a marriage for the purpose of gaining legal permanent resident status in the United States. After respondent abandoned ..."

Annulments are, as stated above, way less common than divorces, and way more legally complex.

Consequently, a GoFundMe campaign was launched on Michael's behalf, specifically to fund his legal defense amid his split from Angela.

Angela was livid about the GoFundMe, but contributors unanimously wished Michael the best (and Angela the worst), and one summarized reality TV fan sentiment across social media:

"We've all seen years and years of endless abuse and humiliation from Angela towards you. We've all seen TLC fail more than once to protect you, but only profiting of abuse towards your [person].

"Michael, it's all been broadcasted on national and international TV. I'm extremely glad you got out safe, and I will be praying for you. God bless you, Michael! You're a good person, keep fighting for justice.

"You didn't deserve the hell that Angela put you through. Nobody deserves to be treated like that."

A cherry on top for Michael's tense escape from Angela occurred during another part of the Tell All, when Angela made a big production of trotting out a private investigator named Todd.

After claiming she hoped her PI wouldn't dig up any dirt on Michael, Angela stormed off the set when Todd confirmed he'd been unable to find any evidence of Michael "scamming" her.

Some people might decide to just quit while they're not ahead, but Angela has been monitoring Michael's successful GoFundMe, and she's again ranting about the support being lavished upon Michael.

Angela Is So, So Angry Americans Are Donating To Michael

When we initially covered Michael's GoFundMe, it had climbed from $12,000 to over $13,000 in under an hour, and it seemed every donation came with a heartfelt note of encouragement from Michael.

And as we previously reported, Angela took to TikTok to rage about it.

Originally, Michael's GoFundMe had a goal of $50,000, lowered to $25,000, and it has surpassed the latter number, bringing in over $30,000.

On August 15, Angela again raged on TikTok, incandescent over the success of her estranged husband's fundraiser:

Angela's TikTok account only allows comments from specific users, so her post only had a handful of replies.

Broadcasting from a bathroom, she launched straight into griping about Michael's GoFundMe, aiming her ire at Americans:

"Oh, my God, did you see Michael made his goal? What is wrong with the United States of America? I am totally ashamed right now.

"Who gives a GoFundMe, makes $25,000 for legal fees when we have people out there [unintelligible] [...] for sick kids, sick moms, or veterans out there who don't even get $25,000.

"Wake up, America! This is unacceptable. This is unacceptable!"

It seemed evident from Angela's recent TikTok rant that she anticipated support for trying to trigger Michael's deportation, and was chagrined most American contributors wanted to see him happy and living freely.
