90 Day Fiancé is a reality television show that began airing on TLC in 2014. It focuses on couples in which one partner lives in the United States and the other lives somewhere else. Using the K-1 Visa, the couple has 90 days to marry and move to the United States.
The show spawned several spinoffs, one of which was 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. In this show, the person from the United States moves to another country to be with their partner as opposed to the other way around.
Deavan and Jihoon
One of the main couples featured in both seasons of The Other Way is Deavan Clegg from Salt Lake City, Utah and Jihoon Lee from Seoul, South Korea.
The couple met online. Clegg became pregnant shortly after visiting Lee in Seoul; the two now have a son together, as well as Clegg's daughter from before she met Lee. However, financial struggles have put a dent in the relationship. TLC released a clip on their YouTube page that showcased Clegg's doubts about moving to Korea.
Clegg discussed the situation with her mother. She alluded to the fact that Lee has withheld money from them; he put all of his money in his mom' s bank account. Lee lied about it and said he was saving money, in order to convince Clegg to move to Seoul sooner.
Deavan Might Move Back to America
She said, "I really want to have a sit-down conversation with Jihoon's mom because I don't trust Jihoon's answers. But she doesn't really like me and if this conversation doesn't go well, I will leave and go back to America and never speak to him again."
Clegg has also had a hard time with the cultural shift, as seen in the video which probably added to her stress. Clegg and her mother sat down at a restaurant, but neither can read or speak Korean. There were no pictures of the food either so Clegg had to rely on a translation device. She ended up ordering bugs.
90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way airs on Monday nights on TLC. Full episodes can be viewed on the TLC website.
