The latest episode of TLC's 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way showcases couples avoiding serious discussions while blindly chasing romance across the globe.

A major theme in this episode appears to be the true price of love (literally and figuratively). Financial differences take center stage for cast members like Lily and Statler, who agreed to take on hefty bills in an attempt to make their unemployed partners happy.

Josh Moves To China

Episode 4 starts with a wide-eyed Josh in a taxi on his way to see his third wife, Lily, at their upgraded home in China. The former HVAC sales representative quit his job and sold his house to move Hangzhou to be with Lily.

He even used some of that money to purchase what appears to be airport flowers for the single mom as she funded $562,020 in home renovations for his arrival.

The couple fell in love on a language learning app and chatted for two years before they met in person. Josh proposed on Lily's first trip to America and they wed 18 days later in Las Vegas.

Her upgrades to the home appear to be excessive as she shows off the new elevator, high-tech light system and even paid for signs to be translated into English so her out-of-work husband's life would be easier.

All these things are for you.

Where will his airport flowers fit into this luxurious property?

Josh, who will be unemployed for the next five years due to visa restrictions, clearly appreciates the remodel and small details she put into making him happy. Oddly, he didn't try and stop her from throwing nearly half a million dollars into the residence, but seems annoyed when she hints at being broke because of him.

It's exhausting. I don't need to hear it. I just got here. I don't want to be reminded of how much money she spends on me.

Shockingly, Josh offered to pay "the difference" of their budgeted price for their traditional wedding outfits. Then, they disagreed on what even sparked the idea to have a second wedding ceremony.

James Has Second Thoughts About Moving

Another husband who is relying on his wife to help navigate his finances is James. He met his spouse Meitalia on social media and they've been married for 2 and a half years. Initially, they lived in Maine but decided to move to her homeland in Indonesia due to her health issues.

James almost didn't even move though.

I've been second guessing it every day.

In this episode, James and his spotty beard prepare to travel for two days to officially live with his wife and her seven family members in Indonesia. Unsurprisingly, the couple didn't tell her family they were moving there. They made it seem like they were just visiting.

Meitalia first told her sister the truth, but that conversation didn't go as planned. Her sister told her to "stay there, don't live here."

I'm confused about why they'd move here and leave James' job. It's harder to look for a job here. He is a foreigner. It's hard for him to communicate. Also, the minimum wage is very low in this region. It's different from America.

Shekinah Continues To Let Sarper Walk All Over Her

It's exhausting watching Shekinah stay in Sarper's filthy apartment waiting for him to prove that he's not a playboy.

He didn't clean up for her arrival, throw out his bottle collection nor trash that little black book as requested, but she still stayed in Turkey to be with him.

Not only did she remain in his dirty apartment, but she bottled up her emotions and gave him a night of physical pleasure.

It doesn't mean that once it's over, that I'm not going to talk about the problems anymore.

The next morning, he gave her the honor to wax his back. During the romantic hair removal act, Sarper revealed he didn't tell his family that they applied for the K-1 visa because he didn't want to move to America.

During this tense conversation, she is still waxing his back.

He encouraged her to stay in Turkey, so she reminded him that she has a daughter.

I can't just not see her.

Statler and Dempsey Get The Van

Van life gets the green light.

Statler was able to get an advance from work to pay for her part of the van, so now the pair can officially go on their European adventure. As viewers know, Dempsey quit her job and is solely relying on Statler from here on out.

Statler didn't realize she was potentially being used until her friend Natalie mentioned it.

You make yourself small in a lot of your relationships and you accommodate so much for people who give you so little, historically, because I think you expect rejection.

Natalie said Statler often jumps into situations without thinking it through, and she's very "worried" about her friend. She encouraged her to think "what am I giving to this and what is she giving to this?"

The next day, Statler woke up with a panic attack and new fears that this escapade is a bad idea.

90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way flips the script on the original series. Couples who have never met face to face and have 90 days to get married switch roles. The Americans in the relationship will now head overseas for their culture shock. India, Mexico, Ethiopia, and Russia are just some countries where the show observes the blossoming (or faltering) 90-day relationship that will end happily ever after or a one-way ticket back home alone.
