Cook plays protagonist Susan, a lawyer who takes on a big case to save her law firm. She will represent Nick, played by Damon Wayans Jr, who is suing a dating website after he failed to find “the one.”

For research purposes, hard-working down-to-earth Susan reluctantly joins the world of dating apps, while also trying to hide her new feelings for her client. With a little imagination — and the help of the trailer Netflix released on August 21 — it isn’t hard to guess how this one ends.

Love, Guaranteed also stars Heather Graham, known for her roles on Scrubs and Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, as the charming, ruthless dating website CEO, Tamara Taylor.

The movie is set to premiere on the streaming service on September 3.

Cook’s first big romcom break was in 1999 when she starred in She’s All That, opposite heartthrob Freddie Prinze Jr. and late Fast And Furious star Paul Walker. The American actress and model portrayed protagonist Laney Boggs, embodying the popular trope of the next door girl going for a makeover, usually involving getting rid of a pair of glasses and letting her hair down.

Prinze Jr. played Zackary Siler, one of most popular guys in school, accepting his friends’ challenge to turn dorky Laney into prom queen within six weeks.

Cook also played the titular role in 2001 movie Josie And The Pussycats, a musical comedy loosely based on the Archie Comics series of the same name. Cook, Tara Reid, and Rosario Dawson portrayed the members of struggling rock band The Pussycats, waiting for their big chance. Josie, played by Cook, will have a hard time trying to balance the band’s new fame and her romantic life, as she finds herself falling for folk guitarist Alan M. Mayberry, played by Gabriel Mann.

In more recent years, Cook starred in several Hallmark movies, proving she is a true romcom queen. The actress played the role of Frankie Baldwin in 2016 movie Autumn In The Vineyard, followed by two sequels, Summer In The Vineyard and Valentine In The Vineyard. Love, Guaranteed marks Cook’s debut to web television, as well as Graham’s return to Netflix after she starred on drama series Flaked.
