Numerous startling revelations have emerged throughout Johnny Depp’s defamation trial against his ex-wife, Amber Heard. For instance, there is now more clarity surrounding Depp’s firing from Disney, as well as the instance that led to his severed finger.Perhaps, however, it is the revelations surrounding Heard that many have found to be more shocking. After all, the actress and her camp have not commented on several issues up until they were discussed at the trial. For instance, Heard claimed that her role in the upcoming DC Comics film Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has been significantly reduced. Meanwhile, the actress’ previous romance with billionaire Elon Musk has also come under intense scrutiny. Moreover, testimonies at the trial also seem to imply that Heard was never truly in love with the SpaceX founder in the first place.
Amber Heard And Elon Musk Once Had A Whirlwind Romance
Heard and Musk first met on the set of Robert Rodriguez’s 2013 film Machete Kills where Musk was tapped to do a cameo. Musk would later go on to say that nothing happened between them at this time. Three years later, however, Heard split from Depp and Musk divorced his second wife, Talulah Riley. All of a sudden, the timing was perfect.
“They have known each other for a while. They were friends first, but Elon was always very fascinated by Amber,” a source close to Musk once said. “When the time was right, and they were both single last year, he started pursuing her romantically. She was playing hard to get for a while, which made him even more interested.”
As it turns out, Musk had also been smitten with the actress for some time. “Elon loves a pretty face, but he needs more to be intrigued. Amber has lots more to offer,” the source added. “Elon is attracted to her edginess. She isn’t frightened about being different. She doesn’t get easily intimidated. She is very focused and loves to learn.”
While the couple seemed happy together, Heard and Musk split just a year later in August 2017 with the billionaire himself confirming their breakup on Twitter.
“Btw, just to clear up some of the press storms this weekend, although Amber and I did break up, we are still friends, remain close, and love one another,” he wrote. “Long-distance relationships when both partners have intense work obligations are always difficult, but who knows what the future holds.”
However, towards the end of 2017, it seemed that Heard and Musk were keen to rekindle their romance. The pair were spotted visiting Easter Island together over the holidays. And after the new year, they were seen holding hands in Los Angeles.
Sadly, their rekindled romance was short-lived. Heard and Musk finally decided to break up for good in early 2018. It is believed that the split was amicable.
Was Amber Heard Really In Love With Elon Musk?
Heard and Musk may have looked very much in love during their time together. But recent revelations from the trial indicate otherwise. For instance, it would seem that Heard only decided to go out with Musk after they saw each other at the 2016 Met Ball gala.
At that time, however, the actress had just had a major fight with Depp a few weeks ago and she may have been indifferent to Musk’s advances. “I was heartbroken. My soul was dead,” Heard had said, based on the notes of forensic psychologist Dr. Dawn Hughes during her evaluation of the actress; “Felt nothing then.”
Moreover, text messages that Heard had shared with her former agent, Christian Carino, also indicated that she never had true feelings for her billionaire ex.
When the actress reportedly complained about the media’s coverage of her breakup with Musk, Carino replied, “You weren't in love with him, and you told me a thousand times you were just filling space.”
“I know,” Heard admitted in response. “But I wanted time to grieve and recover in my own time.”
And while the relationship wasn’t exactly real for Heard, Musk has made it clear that his feelings for the actress were genuinely true. He also admitted that their split nearly broke him. “I just broke up with my girlfriend. I was really in love, and it hurt bad,” the billionaire confessed during a 2017 interview with Rolling Stone. Musk even struggled at his Model 3 event following their split.
“I’ve been in severe emotional pain for the last few weeks. Severe,” he further said. “It took every ounce of will to be able to do the Model 3 event and not look like the most depressed guy around. For most of that day, I was morbid…”
But then in hindsight, it also seemed that Musk knew that Heard didn’t really love him all along. “Well, she broke up with me more than I broke up with her, I think,” he also remarked.
