After Angelina Jolie jumped in the water, she had also hinted about her idea. While the star was swimming, she was asked for an interview. She then asked the interviewer, Jeremy Louwerse, to tread water with her, before Jolie playfully pulled him in. Attempting to get Angelina Jolie to answer a few questions, the A-lister dragged him into the pool, and the interviewer's microphone was destroyed.

Before becoming a mother, Angelina Jolie was known to do wild things at times, for example, exchanging and wearing necklaces containing blood with ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton. In 1999, the star won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Miniseries or Motion Picture - Television, for playing the titular role in the biography film Gia, based on supermodel Gia Carangi. Thrilled, Jolie started celebrating by jumping into the pool at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, where the Globes took place. The Eternals actor also dragged a reporter into the pool with her, and his microphone "exploded."

Before plunging in, she hinted she might make such a splash. "I said I'd go in the pool if I won, so I think I just might have to go in the pool," Jolie announced.

Because of her comments, Access sent a crew to the event, hoping to capture the moment, in case the star actually did it. Jolie delivered and jumped in, still wearing her glamorous dress. She's heard saying, "hold on while I grab the champagne," apparently ready for a toast!

While she enjoyed a dip in the pool after winning a Golden Globe for 1998's Gia, Access' Jeremy Louwerse asked if she would "mind answering a few questions." Grinning broadly, the actor/director replied he should join her. While Louwerse attempted to decline, she grabbed his mic, his hand and yanked him in with her.

After Angelina Jolie jumped in the Beverly Hilton pool, she enjoyed swimming and champagne. Asked for an interview, she encouraged Access' Jeremy Louwerse to join her small gathering, but he rejected the invitation. Not taking "no" for an answer, Jolie dragged Louwerse into the pool with her. His microphone broke, some of his belongings were ruined.

Before her plunge, the Girl, Interrupted actor told another interviewer about the last time she visited the pool she would pull Louwerse into. "A girlfriend and I, we're walking by, and it's really hot, and we're in our clothes, and we jumped in the pool, and we got kicked out. So I haven't actually really been back since. And so it's here tonight, and they let me in on the red carpet! And now it seems that I just might have to get back in that pool!"

When Louwerse went over to speak with the Wanted actor, Jolie seemed surprised there weren't more people swimming, and claimed others said they would join her for an impromptu pool party. "Everybody dared everybody to get in the pool, and apparently we are the only three people that live up to our promises."

Louwerse asked Jolie for an interview, and was unaware he'd soon be joining the celeb. "She was swimming with a few friends, I think her brother, and drinking champagne, and having a good ol' time, and so I walked up to the side of the pool and said, 'Hey may I interview you Angelina?' and she asked me to get in the pool. And I said, 'No, I'm not getting in the pool, I'm in my full tuxedo.'"

However, Jolie decided to drag him in.

The Interviewer Admitted Getting Dragged In The Pool Was Costly

After Access interviewer Jeremy Louwerse asked her for an interview, the Unbroken director urged him to join her. Although he tried to decline, Jolie insisted.

Louwerse attempted asking the Maleficent actor a question, but Jolie responded, "Get in the pool. Do you need to get in the pool? Get in the pool." Then the Mr. & Mrs. Smith star pulled his microphone out of his hand. As she quickly dragged the interviewer into the water with her, the microphone was destroyed.

Louwerse yelled, "Wait, wait, wait...!" while he fell in, and his equipment was damaged. He later said, "The funny thing is, when she pulled me in, the mic exploded."

He added he was initially concerned about work, and then his personal things. Dragged into the pool, he'd had no time to put his cell phone somewhere else, remove his shoes, or save the microphone.

"I thought to myself, 'Oh, my boss is gonna be really mad at me.' I remember that was the main thing that was going through my mind. And then I realized, 'Hey my shoes are ruined, my phone is ruined.'"

It seems Louwerse had to make a few new purchases afterward.

After Jolie was told "the mic cut out," she didn't seem worried, and responded, "Let's just enjoy it."

Although he lost some important personal items, and the microphone was completely destroyed, which ruined any chance of an interview, Louwerse doesn't seem to have any hard feelings about Jolie dragging him into the pool. He added, "Angelina, it was a fun night, let's do it again sometime."
