The usually refined lifestyle icon shocked many fans with her bawdy humor, and her sassy comments won the respect of her fellow roasters, especially comedian Pete Davidson. But where does Martha and Pete's relationship stand today?
Pete Loved Martha’s Jokes
Many fans had been surprised that Bieber was so keen on the roast, and they expected him to receive vicious attacks from the roasters about his previous controversial behavior. And he did.
No-one handled the evening better than Martha Stewart. Teasing Bieber about his 2014 DUI arrest in Miami, she offered the singer tips on how to survive a jail sentence, which she hinted he would eventually be given if he carried on behaving in the same way.
Referring to the time she spent in prison in 2004, she said: “Let’s get to the reason I’m here tonight, which is to give Justin Bieber some tips to use when he inevitably ends up in prison,” she joked. “I’ve been in lockup, and you wouldn’t last a week, so pay attention.”
Found guilty on charges of conspiracy, obstruction of an agency proceeding, and making false statements to federal investigators, the 63-year-old had served five months in a correctional facility.
Stewart and Davidson playfully roasted each other throughout the night, with the SNL star poking fun at Stewart's age, even though many say the star still looks as gorgeous as she did in 1960.
The jokes and smart retorts between the pair didn't stop, and the fun they were having together was evident to viewers. The roast became the third most watched ever Comedy Central show.
Stewart Sent Davidson A Letter After The Roast
The Domestic Diva had enjoyed meeting Davidson so much that she stayed in contact with him, sending the comedian a letter after the roast.
The two’s paths crossed again early in 2022 at the Japanese restaurant Nobu Malibu. Stewart posted a photo with Davidson later.
She accompanied the pic with the comment: "Remember @petedavidson? One of my fellow roasters on #thejustinbieberroast a few years back. Now he is on @nbcsnl and in some very funny movies. Cute guy with painted fingernails."
She couldn't resist adding that Davidson was not dining at Nobu with Kim Kardashian, but with Antoni Porowski of Queer Eye. She ended off the post with: "Chance encounter. Cute guys.”
It Wasn’t Long Before Stewart And Davidson Met Again
The queen of entertaining met up with Davidson again at this year’s White House Correspondents’ dinner. This time, he was accompanied by Kardashian. The three got on very well, laughing and chatting before the photo that led to the speculation was taken.
Just before the cameras snapped, Stewart took hold of Davidson’s hand. No one commented at the time.
After the event, Stewart posted a throwback video of Davidson from backstage at the Bieber roast.
In the video, he said: "I'm Pete, and I'm very excited to do this roast with Martha because she's adorable and doesn't know that she's going to get abused."

There’s A Chance Martha And Pete Will Have A Relationship Of Sorts
They might not be considering a romantic liaison, but speaking at the opening of her Las Vegas restaurant, The Bedford, Stewart hinted that she was hoping to collaborate with Davidson on her next podcast.
Stewart told guests the Suicide Squad star is like "the son I never had. He’s a charming boy who is finding his way," she adds. "I've invited him to come on my podcast, and I look forward to hearing what he has to say."
