Being an artist isn't easy. They have to go through a lot of stress just to get their album out there to the public. They also have to go on tours, radio shows, live shows, photoshoots and so much more to present themselves. This is, of course, no exception for Ariana Grande who repeatedly tops the charts and plans world tours; sharing love and support to her die-hard fans and making them happy with her extraordinary music.
No matter how busy she is, the Thank U, Next singer manages to maintain a strict workout regime which helps her keep in shape no matter where she is.
Strict Workout Regime
Insider reported that according to Grande's trainer, Harley Pasternak, she has four exercises that could be done anytime and anywhere. The singer's workout includes a variety of lunges, such as reverse lunges and walking lunges, along with pike planks, the Superman, and glute bridges as they help improve balance, boost core stability, and overall strength, while also giving flexibility to tight hips. Grande does five sets of 30 reps for each move every day.
"It's going to reach you tomorrow morning," Grande said to Women's Health Magazine. "Tomorrow morning is when you're going to feel it. Maybe even the next day."
In a 2016 interview with Daily Mail, Grande said that she tries to live a healthy lifestyle as eating right, exercise and sleep are all an important part of our life. She also tries to stay active all the time. Her favorite activity is hiking and just being on stage.
Simple Yet Effective Moves
In 2013, the Stuck With U singer told Shape Magazine that she tries to get as much cardio as she can. In fact, she used to jog up to the Hollywood sign every weekend.
"Nothing burns more calories than dancing in five-inch heels...try it!"
As much as Ariana loves jogging though, she prefers a workout which can be done anywhere to keep her abs burning all day long.
"The key to working with the kind of people like Ariana is making the most of what we have, time-wise, equipment-wise and space-wise, without ever injuring her," Grande's trainer, Pasternak told Women's Health in 2017. The two movements which the 27-year-old loves are walking lunges and hip thrusts.
Pasternak added that Ariana doesn't do any explosive movements and that there are no heavyweights involved.
"We want to work her, and we want to do it in a safe way--this does it all."
Moreover, Grande is keen on getting at least 12,000-14,000 steps every day, even if she's unable to complete her customary workout.
"For the longest time, I was like, 'How is that more effective than doing a full-fledged workout?' It really is," she said, adding that she feels better when she's just moving around a lot.
12,000 Steps And A Bit More Lunges...
Pasternak told Popsugar that he gives Ariana a step goal every day; whether she be dancing to get that step goal or watching her favorite movies while walking on the treadmill really slowly.
"Twelve thousand steps a day and she hits it," he said. "I can't imagine her being still."
In fact, Grande loves being on the treadmill as it inspires her to write and get creative with her songs. If the singer ever needs help writing, being creative, or coming up with an idea, she simply works out and BOOM! we have a number one on Billboard's hot 100.
Fun fact: Grande got the idea for her hitmaker song, Side to Side video while she was on the treadmill!
"Usually, I'll listen to throwback '90s hip-hop or stuff that makes me amped," she said.
We finally know what Grande does to get those insane abs popping. Of course, diet plays a big part in her life as well. However, with persistence and determination, we can do anything. And if Ariana Grande can do it, then so can you!
To quote Grande, "Do whatever you need to to feel good, but the human you are is so important."
