Artem Chigvintsev is a Russian professional dancer who was born in June 1982 in Izhevsk, Udmurt Republic, RSFSR, Soviet Union. Chigvintsev moved to the States in 2003 to kickstart his dancing career. Champion ballroom dancer Giselle Peacock became his partner and he specialized in Latin dancing. Artem Chigvintsev has made quite the name for himself since joining Dancing With The Stars in 2014.
Artem joined the cast of DWTS for season 19 and has been with the show ever since. The dancer not only took home the Mirrorball Trophy last year, but he also met his wife on the show. WWE wrestler Nikki Bella joined season 25 of the hit dancing competition and was partnered up with her now-fiancé. In 2004, Artem Chigvintsev married his dance partner Giselle Peacock, but it only lasted a year. Artem auditioned for the first season of So You Think You Can Dance, but he was unfortunately eliminated. For season two, he became a choreographer on the show and created many memorable dances. In 2009, he performed in Broadway and West End productions of Burn the Floor. In 2010, Chigvintsev joined Strictly Come Dancing series 8 where he was partnered up with actress Kara Tointon. Artem found love on the dance floor after being partnered up with WWE star Nikki Bella. According to a profile from Us Magazine, "Chigvintsev and Bella’s romance was first featured on Total Bellas, and in March 2019, she finally confirmed their relationship. Less than a year after they were first romantically linked, the Russian native proposed to Bella while in France in November 2019. The pair announced their engagement in January 2020, and later that month, they revealed they were expecting their first child together. In July 2020, the lovebirds welcomed a baby boy."

Artem unexpectedly dropped out of the Dancing With The Stars 2022 live tour. Apparently, due to health issues, he will no longer be performing alongside the cast. Artem posted a statement on his Instagram that reads, “Hi DWTS family – My time on tour so far has been wonderful – unfortunately, I am having to step away from the tour for a while, due to some unexpected health issues. My goal is to recover as quickly as possible, so I can rejoin my cast and crew on this incredible tour. Thank you for your patience and understanding. See you soon, Artem.”

Several of Chigvintsev’s cast-mates and friends took to the comment section immediately. Pasha Pashkov commented,
“Rest up and get better soon man," while his wife Daniella Karagach added, “Wishing you a fast recovery." “Please feel better, we all miss you so much and wishing you a speedy recovery,” Gleb Savchenko wrote.
