Aubrey Plaza is considered among the elite during interviews. She's highly entertaining, and will even get praise for flipping off a host during an interview.

However, like other stars in Hollywood, a certain wardrobe caused Plaza some real uncomfort. This is very common. Who can forget when fans noticed Olivia Munn getting nervous when she realized her wardrobe with David Letterman was too revealing.

Aubrey Plaza underwent a similar situation with Vanity Fair and, of course, she had to acknowledge it during the interview. We'll reveal what she had to say about her outfit, and how the fans reacted to Plaza's interview moment.

Aubrey Plaza Had To Adjust Her Skirt And Made Mention That She Was Wearing A "Napkin"

There's never a dull moment when Aubrey Plaza is taking on an interview and that was especially true over a decade ago when she sat down alongside Vanity Fair. At the time, Plaza discussed her involvement in the film, Funny People, alongside Judd Apatow. Plaza stated that she got the role in the film because of a VHS tape that showed a compilation of her work. The next thing she knew, the actress was auditioning alongside Seth Rogen.

Following the opening question about working with Judd Apatow, the interview took a turn. Fans notice Plaza looking very uncomfortable. The actress felt like her attire might've been a little too revealing.

She looks at the camera and says, "Sorry, I'm wearing a napkin," while holding back a laugh and adjusting herself.

The moment can be seen below right around the 0:55 mark.

In truth, her wardrobe choice was likely decided by her team. Nonetheless, despite the hiccup, Plaza continued on showing no discomfort whatsoever, and was her usual self for the rest of the conversation. It proved to be yet another entertaining interview with the star.

Fans Applauded Aubrey Plaza's Interview Conduct With Vanity Fair

Fans had a lot to say about the interview. Of course, the "napkin" comment was a popular one with the fans. Others noted that it takes a certain type of interviewer to match Plaza's energy. One fan stated that Conan O'Brien is the ideal host for Plaza.

"Very few people can actually interview Aubrey Plaza properly. Conan O'Brien is one of those very few. He just lets Aubrey roll with it and indulges her "crazy", whereas most interviewers end up trying to control her because they simply lack the talent to keep up with Aubrey."

Another fan wrote, "Shes clever, witty, non apologetic. She does what she does with no compromise. No quarter asked no quarter given. Says it like it is and does not play beat around the bush. Over all, that is a pretty cool woman."

Although Plaza is very entertaining, she did admit that interviews are not necessarily easy for her. In fact, Plaza revealed that she's very anxious prior and during an interview.

Aubrey Plaza Admitted That Interviews Are A Struggle For Her

Aubrey Plaza revealed that she prefers to be a character rather than her real life self. Speaking with Vanity Fair, Plaza discussed the fact that she's very introverted despite what fans might see.

The Things

“I’m way more socially, like, anxious and introverted than people would expect, I think,” Plaza explained. “I’m just as insecure as anybody, and I’m probably way more shy than people think. But obviously the way I deal with that is, like, extreme behaviors.”

Plaza goes on to reveal that playing a character during interviews makes things a lot easier.

“You can see all the colors of my psychological state on display in any of these [TV] interviews,” she says. “It’s a struggle for me every time. It’s a struggle to not quote-unquote ‘give people what they want,’ which is — I don’t even know what they want — and try to have fun for myself without coming off like an asshole. I think it all just stems from — I’m scared. I prefer to be a character. I mean, that’s literally what I am doing.”

Still, there is a degree of authenticity during her conversations.

“I try to maintain some authenticity, for better or for worse,” she clarified. “That’s the goal. If all else fails, at least be authentic.”

Plaza's method is clearly working as she continues to be among the most loved stars in all of Hollywood with quite a fanbase backing her.
