On January 16, Matt James announced on Instagram that he and girlfriend Rachael Kirkconnell had called it quits. The news came as a complete shock as The Bachelor Season 25 lead had just posted loving photos with Rachael on a trip to London the day before.

Fans were rooting for Matt and Rachael after he had chosen her at the end of his season in 2021. They faced a short-lived break-up due to Rachael's controversial past. However, the two got back together and found themselves traveling the world together. It was only a matter of time before the two would get engaged. (Matt decided not to put a ring on it at his season finale).

The news that this reality TV couple are broken up is crushing given that only a few Bachelor/Bachelorette couples who are still with the person they chose at the end, remain.

Sean Lowe ultimately proposed to Catherine Giudici, a graphic designer in Season 17 of The Bachelor. They would also have their wedding televised on ABC in 2014. The couple is now parents to three kids.

In a 2020 Instagram post, Catherine admitted that she believed the show included her as a contestant only because of her race, as the show has faced major backlash for its lack of diversity for years. As a Filipino, Catherine shared that she didn't think Sean was attracted to her.

"When I was originally cast, I was very flattered but somewhat grounded by the fact that I would be one of the faces that represented people of color. I knew that one of the reasons I was probably chosen was because I was Filipino," she said. "I counted myself out to be his fiancée because of what I assumed Sean liked. I thought I was there just to check a box, but I ended up with so much more."

She concluded her statement with, "I’d say doing this show was one of the best things that ever happened to me."

"I truly believe are my soulmate. I’m ready to face this life with you and all that comes with it. I love you so much. I wanted to do this in front of everyone because I want to show you that I should have done this a long time ago.”

Although fans weren't so thrilled at how Arie broke off his engagement to Becca (she would later get her own season of The Bachelorette), Arie and Lauren have proven everyone wrong as they're still going strong today. The two tied the knot in 2019, and have since welcomed three children.

"For me, I got in this space where I just felt this constant pressure of, like, I need to check off something every month or every week. And it got to the point where I’m like, ‘I don’t wanna do that right now.’ I’m also still just easing into life and normalcy again. Obviously, we’re still getting married.
