Jenn Tran’s ex-boyfriend Matthew showed up in New Zealand to go after her, shaking up things in The Bachelorette, but unfortunately, his grand gesture wasn’t enough to sweep her off her feet, and he left the show dejected.

His appearance on the show left her confused, and she had to take some time to process the impact of his words. Matt told her that he wasn’t “ready to let go” of their relationship, and Jenn felt “torn.”

“He wants to be with me and he wants to join this journey,” she informed her suitors. “I mean, there’s a lot of feelings, there’s a lot of things going on. So Matt is here tonight, and I do need to talk to him. So, I will be right back.”

In the end, after a private conversation, Matt emerged defeated and informed the rest of the cast of her decision.

“She let me know her future’s in this room. She feels confident that you guys can offer her something I can’t, and I’m just here to apologize. I’m not here to take anything away from your experience.”

Jenn confirmed this later, telling her suitors that Matt’s declaration was “all the right things but said by the wrong guy.”

“Looking around this room. I know that the right guy is in here.”

The right guy is probably not Sam M., though. The man who Jenn said on several occasions made her feel uncomfortable and decided to mock the ex-boyfriend.

“I’m glad you’re going to stay in the past, my boy,” he told Matt.

Jenn Tran Felt Uncomfortable During Her Date With Sam

Jenn Tran and Sam M.'s one-on-one date didn't go well, and afterward, Jenn said that she wasn't comfortable with him. The pair were given the option to jump off the Sky Tower in Auckland during their date, and despite Jenn saying that she was afraid, Sam decided for both of them and pushed her to do it.

Jenn Tran feels optimistic after a great date with a suitor.

“Without even asking me, he made a decision for the both of us. I think he needs to be doing a better job of reading my emotions right now. I am clearly terrified and Sam’s not reading my emotions at all. I feel like I’m up here all by myself,” Jenn complained.

Sam and his family are claiming that he was portrayed as the bad guy because he got a bad edit, but Jenn demands he takes accountability for his actions.

“As much as a TV edit is [an edit], no one can give you a villain edit in some way, which is what people are claiming. You have to own your words because no one’s putting words in your mouth. You are the person that is saying those things.”
