In 2004, Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren tied the knot after three years of dating. They first met at the 2001 British Open where he apparently "didn't make a great impression on her at first," per the latter's friend Sandra Sobieraj Westfall.
In the HBO documentary, Tiger, Westfall explained that the Swedish-born ex-Mrs. Woods "had her opinions about celebrities and they were not high. And she's very shy so the idea of joining that world was not appealing to her."
"And when he asked her out, I think she turned him down at first. She gradually was convinced that she should give him a chance and so they did go out."
Unfortunately, five years into their marriage and after welcoming two kids Sam and Charlie, news broke that the professional golfer had been having several affairs, including a relationship with Rachel Uchitel.

What Did Elin Nordegren Do Before She Married Tiger Woods?
Nordegren was actually working as a nanny for Swedish golfer Jesper Parnevik when he introduced her to Woods in 2001. Before that, she also worked as a teenage swimsuit model. "I did some modeling when I was younger. I was never very successful at it, and I didn't intend to pursue it," she told People in 2010.
"It is flattering to be called a model, but I hardly think a few shoots in my teenage years make me a model," she continued. As for her stint as a nanny, she said that originally planned on studying Spanish in Barcelona but traveling with the Parneviks to the US changed everything.
"My intent was to go back to Sweden after a year and start my psychology studies," she shared. "'Swimsuit model and nanny' isn't accurate today, but they are things that I have done. They were both great experiences." Parnevik later admitted that he apologized to Nordegren after Woods' cheating scandal.
"I would be especially sad about it since I'm kind of — I really feel sorry for Elin — since me and my wife were at fault for hooking her up with him," the athlete said following the public split. "It's a private thing, of course. But when you are the guy he is, the world's best athlete, you should think more before you do stuff … And maybe not just do it, like Nike says."
How Much Did Elin Nordegren Get From Her Divorce From Tiger Woods?
In 2010, Forbes initially reported that Nordegren was walking away with $750 million as a divorce settlement. It was odd since Woods' net worth was only $600 million back then. TMZ later clarified that the former Mrs. Woods was getting about $100 million instead.
It was said to be a lot more than their prenup agreement but just a sixth of the athlete's fortune. On top of that, Nordegren won sole custody of their son and daughter. Woods' past or future girlfriends were also legally banned from having contact with the children.
Fast-forward to now, Nordegren is said to have a net worth of $200 million while her ex-husband's wealth has grown to a total of $1.1 billion. The former invested in real estate, buying a $12 million mansion on North Palm Beach right after the divorce and later selling it for $48.5 million. It was bought by Rockstar energy drink founder, Russ Weiner.
Nordegren also went on to complete her Psychology degree after the divorce. In 2014, she graduated from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida after nine years of taking one class at a time. "Education has been the only consistent part of my life the last nine years," she said in her commencement speech. "And it has offered me comfort. Education is one thing that no one can take away from you."

Nordegren has been in some relationships after her marriage to Woods. But these days, she's with NFL player, Jordan Cameron. They also have two children together. The two started dating in 2017 when Cameron retired from the league after suffering from four concussions.
"Elin is very private, she has been dating Jordan for a number of years, and they have kept their relationship very under wraps," a source told Page Six at that time. "Her friends are so happy for her because he is wonderful. Elin deserves to be with a great guy and he is just that."
In 2022, when Erica Herman filed a lawsuit against Woods, a source said that Nordegren has "no interest" in his personal life despite their co-parenting arrangement. "This aspect of Tiger's life is not her concern," said the insider.
They continued: "Of course, she needs to be very confident that the children are safe and happy around anyone that Tiger is with, especially if the romance becomes serious. To that degree, she is very interested. But not on much else."
