All throughout the 90s, the two were huge child stars, and they starred in numerous movies. However, since then, Mary Kate and Ashley have quit acting — and today they are known mostly for running fashion brands like The Row and Elizabeth and James, as well as being on the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Both twins prefer staying out of the spotlight as they don't enjoy being famous.

8 Macaulay Culkin Has A Podcast And Pop Culture Website

Speaking of not acting anymore, Macaulay Culkin is another star who gave up acting for a while. Culkin rose to fame as Kevin McCallister in the first two movies of the Home Alone franchise released in 1990 and 1992. Just like the Olsen Twins, Culkin also starred in numerous projects throughout the early '90s. However, in the second half, the actor took a break from the industry. 7 Amanda Bynes Is Still Under A Conservatorship

Actress Amanda Bynes rose to fame thanks to the Nickelodeon sketch comedy show All That in 1996. While she had a very promising career in the early 2000s, the actress struggled with substance abuse and went on an indefinite hiatus.

Next on the list is actor Jonathan Taylor Thomas who rose to fame as Randy Taylor on the '90s sitcom Home Improvement — and he was also the voice behind young Simba in Disney's 1994 movie The Lion King. However, since the 2000s, the actor has been trying to stay away from the spotlight, and he has done barely any projects. Last year, the star was photographed publically for the first time in almost eight years!
