Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are perhaps one of Hollywood's favorite "It Couples." The two have been married for over a decade, and their constant social media taunts are some of the best out there. While they like to have fun joking with each other online, the two are truly supportive of each other and their passions.

When comparing their careers, there is a steep difference in Reynolds and Lively's resumes. Ryan has over 120 acting gigs under his belt, whereas Blake has less than 30. Do not let the numbers fool you, though! While Reynolds continues to book numerous acting jobs, Lively has been working hard in other ways.

In the last few years, Blake Lively has focused on motherhood (especially after having their fourth baby earlier this year), starting her own company, and getting back into Hollywood by accepting four jobs at once. And she is not slowing down any time soon.

Ryan Reynolds Is A Hollywood Treasure

The 46-year-old Canadian actor has really made a name for himself in the entertainment industry. Ryan Reynolds has been in over 100 movies and television shows since the start of his career in the early '90s. From TV series like Fifteen and The Odyssey in the early days to his more recent works, including Red Notice, The Adam Project, and Free Guy, Reynolds has been in various genres over the years.

Perhaps some of his most popular work comes from the romantic comedy The Proposal in which he starred opposite Sandra Bullock, as well as the Marvel film Deadpool. In the latter, he has perfected the role of comedic antihero and has integrated himself into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, even further boosting his popularity.

As of now, the actor has eight projects in various states of production. Reynolds will be starring in the upcoming Red Notice sequel, a remake of Clue, and the third Deadpool film, along with other original movies.

Blake Lively's Early Hollywood Career Was Impressive

Compared to her husband, Blake Lively's Hollywood resume appears to be pretty underwhelming, but the actress started her acting career in the 2000s, and she started out strong. In her early days, Lively starred in popular works like The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Gossip Girl, and Green Lantern.

In the last decade, Blake has only appeared in a handful of stand-out titles. Movies like The Age of Adeline, The Shallows, and A Simple Favor are among the only productions of hers that received media attention.

Between 2005 and 2012, Lively landed fifteen roles, ranging from television to movies to music videos. From 2013 onward, she was only in ten productions, which includes a Beyoncé music video, A Simple Favor gag reel, and a cameo on a Sesame Street TV special. As of the time of this writing, the actress has not been on the screen since The Rhythm Section released in 2020.

Blake Lively Took A Step Back To Focus On Her Family

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds welcomed their first baby into the world in 2014. James Reynolds, named after Ryan's father, was the first of their many daughters. While Lively continued to take a few jobs while James was growing up, her career noticeably slowed down as she devoted more of her time to motherhood.

After James came Inez Reynolds, the couple's second baby. She was born in 2016, meaning she is now in school. Blake only took three major roles after the birth of her second daughter, leaving more time to stay at home with the two girls.

In 2019, Betty Reynolds was added to the family, the third born daughter of the couple. Betty's name had a special debut, as it was actually announced through Taylor Swift's 2020 album Folklore, in which she also mentioned James and Inez's names. This child's name is a tribute to Blake's late father.

Early in 2023, likely in February, Ryan and Blake had their fourth child. The couple have always been vigilant in keeping their children out of the media and making sure their private life remains, well, private. As of now, not many details are known about their recent addition, including the baby's name or gender.

What we do know, however, is that Blake is loving life as a mother, "Family is at the root of everything that I do and it’s also at the root of everything that I create. So, whenever I create something, I create something with family in mind, because that’s just how I live."

While her husband is now the face of his own infamous gin brand, Aviation Gin, Blake Lively was ready to step up to the game. After spending years crafting the company and the product, she opened Betty Buzz (named after her third daughter) to the public.

The brand is carefully crafted mixers to really spice up your drink. Lively shared her inspiration for starting the company, saying, "I don’t drink... Over the past many years of mixing but not drinking cocktails, it became clear mixers are the unsung heroes of the drink world and deserve just as much love as alcohol." Now she is excited for the rest of the world to try the products.

Blake Lively Is Diving Back Into Hollywood

As previously mentioned, Blake Lively's last job was in 2020. That is about to change, however, as the actress is currently working on four productions. She is starring in the upcoming film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's novel It Ends with Us, as well as the movies Proxy, The Making Of, and The Husband's Secret.

She may not have been adding to her resume over the last few years, but Lively has been working hard as a mother, wife, business owner, and prepping herself for the dive back into the entertainment industry.
