Comedian and actor Bob Saget's death on January 9th, 2022 left his fans, friends, and family devastated. It seemingly came out of nowhere as he was doing fine, and he was currently on his stand-up tour in Florida. After not making it to his scheduled check out at the Orlando Ritz-Carlton and family members not being able to get into contact with him, responders came to his hotel room, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police reports addressed that Saget died from natural causes, but something was clearly off that resulted in him passing too soon. As updates continue to surface revolving around the Full House star's passing, Saget had a couple of causes that ultimately led to his death at 65 years old.

Cause Of Death Revealed

Tragically, Saget's last Instagram post was on the day of his passing, praising the audience during his stand-up performance in Orlando and looking forward to continuing his tour while feeling like he was in his primetime when he was 26. As soon as the announcement of his passing came out, thousands of fans, including celebrities such as Green Day's Mike Dirnt, commented with "RIP" or sad emojis after finding out his unexpected death.

Despite his cause of death being reported as from natural causes, that didn't stop theories floating around that his family's medical health played a part. TheList reported that in Saget's book, Dirty Daddy: The Chronicles of a Family Man Turned Filthy Comedian, his three uncles died from heart attacks between the ages of 37 and 41. Saget lost both of his uncles when he was really young, with his first one, Uncle Ozzie, passing away when he was only eight. Uncle Manny died a year later, and when Saget was15, Uncle Sammy died at 37 while playing tennis. His father also went through two heart attacks, but he didn't die from them.

The theory of Saget dying from a heart attack became proven false when his autopsy revealed his passing in early February. According to the autopsy reports, Saget died from head trauma. He had both a subdural hematoma and a subarachnoid hematoma, which results in bleeding in the brain in different sections. Saget also had subgaleal hematoma, a collection of blood between the skin and the skull that happened during the impact.

Saget Was Also Covid-19 Positive At The Time Of His Death

Asides from blunt head trauma contributing to his passing, Saget also was tested positive with Covid-19. However, he wasn't suffering from any concerning symptoms of the virus and did not have any inflammation in his system. Saget instead had his prescription drug clonazepam in his system, which is to help treat seizures, panic disorder, and anxiety. Trazodone, an anti-depressant, was also present in his system from toxicology reports.

Despite his age, Saget wasn't affected greatly by his Covid-19 diagnosis. Describing his experience, Saget said in the podcast A Mediocre Time with Tom and Dan, "It is not good, it does not feel good — I had it." He wore a mask out of courtesy while he was traveling during his tour. Akin to his personality, he joked about not being sure if he had the Omicron variant or Delta variant. As mentioned in the autopsy reports, while he was Covid-19 positive, Saget was making a swift recovery from the virus, though the blunt force trauma from his head became the true culprit of his passing.

Saget's Widow And Daughters Are Suing

Those that will grieve the most for when a relative unexpectedly dies are the immediate family members. Kelly Rizzo, Saget's wife since 2018, and his daughters Aubrey, Lara, and Jennifer, filed a lawsuit against Orange County's sheriff and the medical examiner's office. They added that investigation papers revolving around Saget's death should be kept confidential due to its graphic descriptions. The family argued that "in the lawsuit that the release of this information -- whether through a public records request or any other avenue -- would cause them to 'suffer irreparable harm in the form of extreme mental pain, anguish, and emotional distress.'"

Saget's widow and three daughters have every right to grieve in peace, but with many reports becoming public, it eventually became more stressful as Saget's updated information from his passing gained public interest. What has been revealed is already more than enough for fans, friends, and family to cope as they lost a comedian, an actor, a friend, a father, and a husband. Hopefully, Saget's widow and his three daughters will be able to have their privacy respected and have the actor's likeliness be seen as a humble, kind, and funny man who enjoyed what he did, instead of how his death occurred.
