It’s finally time for some of Bravo’s more popular Real Housewives kids to show the world what they’re made of away from their famous parents. While original Housewives fans can’t believe how fast time flew by for some Bravo kids to have their own reality TV show, newer fans are getting acquainted with a new set of reality stars.

The special cast shows viewers their lives as young adults trying to make it in New York City. Joining the Real Housewives kids are a few new faces to balance the cast and guest appearances from their famous parents. Will these well-known faces make it in Manhattan? Or will they pack up and move home? Let’s find out!

Everything We Know About 'Next Gen NYC'

In 2024, Bravo announced that the network was releasing a new reality TV show, Making It in Manhattan. The series would follow a handful of kids from The Real Housewives series as they mingle and expand their network in New York City. The network eventually changed the name to Next Gen NYC, but kept the theme the same.

The show's descriptor stated, "While some hail from the spotlight of well-known families, others have created a legacy of their own, but they all are looking to thrive in the city that never sleeps. Together they will challenge societal norms, redefine success, juggle personal and romantic relationships, and lean on each other for support in order to turn their skyline-high aspirations into reality."

The Season 1 Cast

The cast of Next Gen NYC has some familiar faces from some of Bravo's best Real Housewives franchises.

Gia Giudice is one of the bigger names from The Real Housewives on the new reality TV show because she was a part of The Real Housewives of New Jersey since Season 1. Now a college graduate with her own following, many RHONJ fans wanted to know if Gia would eventually be the first child to cross the threshold and become a Housewife herself. Over the years, she's had a few storylines with her uncle and aunt (Joe and Melissa Gorga). She's also her mother, Teresa Giudice's, sounding board when it comes to relationships and issues with the cast.

Thanks to Next Gen NYC, RHONJ fans will see Gia in a new light and see if she has what it takes to star in her own reality show outside of her mother's shadow.

Riley Burruss and Ariana Biermann are other big names in the series after being a part of The Real Housewives of Atlanta since childhood. Their mothers, Kandi Burruss and Kim Zolciak, have had their fair share of disagreements over the years, but are sure to come together for the benefit of their kids, who branched out to Manhattan.

Trailer

In April 2024, Bravo released the official trailer for Next Gen NYC. The three-minute trailer showed the cast talking about their love for New York while galavanting around the city. Bravo fans get a first look at the non-Real Housewives newbies as they talk about storylines in their confessionals. But not everything is as sweet as can be with this cast. Arguments among cast members are shown throughout the trailer, proving that the show has followed The Real Housewives formula.

Do Their Famous Parents Make Appearances?

According to the trailer, some of the kids' famous parents make appearances in the series.

  • Brooks Marks' parents from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Meredith and Seth Marks, make appearances. Seth was seen talking to Brooks about his love life, while Meredith talked to Brooks about fashion.
  • Ava Dash is in the car with her siblings and famous dad, Damon Dash.
  • Kim Zolciak is seen at dinner with Ariana Biermann.
  • Riley Burruss is seen giving her mom, Kandi Burruss, some shade.
  • Teresa Giudice and Meredith Marks are seen having drinks with their kids, Brooks and Gia Giudice.

Release Date

According to Bravo, Next Gen NYC premieres on Tuesday, June 3 at 9/8.c, with episodes releasing every Tuesday on Bravo.

'Next Gen NYC' Has Had Mixed Feedback

Next Gen NYC has had mixed reviews since the trailer was released. Many are following the series strictly for the Real Housewives kids. However, if it wasn't for the Bravo kids, the show doesn't seem to have a broad interest.

It appears the cast either comes from money or make great money as creatives, so "making it" in the Big Apple seems inevitable when they have deep pockets. A more compelling series would be young adults who come from little and try to carve their way through New York — subway rides, roommates, and all.

One Instagram user commented, "Whoever is making the decisions at Bravo, please stop. No one asked for this contrived nepo baby show." Others complained about not seeing enough of Riley Burruss in the trailer. "There isn’t a lot of Riley …. I wanna see her!" The words "bad" and "boring" were also tossed around after the trailer dropped.

On the flip side, others were optimistic about the new series. "Haters can hate but I’m excited for this," one Instagram user wrote. Some compared it to the 2009 reality TV show, NYC Prep. The series showed the daily lives of young adults living in Manhattan.

It's tough to say if Next Gen NYC will last longer than one season, but considering the pull from The Real Housewives fan base, the series could be better than haters suspect.

There's bound to be plenty of press to push the series this summer, especially by the Housewives themselves, so Bravo super fans will finally get to see the Housewives kids grown up this June.
