Though the memoir won’t hit bookshelves until October 24, various excerpts have been published from the memoir, revealing some of the deep secrets Britney reveals.
As per an excerpt published by PEOPLE, Britney reveals she and Justin were shocked when she became pregnant unexpectedly. While the singer says she was inclined to keep the child, Justin made it very clear he wasn’t ready to become a parent. Britney says she felt pressured into ending the pregnancy as a result.
“I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated,” she writes in the book. “But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young.”
“I’m sure people will hate me for this, but I agreed not to have the baby,” Britney went on. “I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father.”
