Taking a break in a remote forest area, Korea’s most popular boy band group, BTS, has just officially premiered Season 2 of their “In the SOOP” reality show. The first season aired in 2020, located at a famous private lakeside property also known as Lake 192. This season, members – RM, Jin, J-Hope, Suga, V, Jungkook with his Doberman dog - Bam, and Jimin went on a trip to Pyeongchang, Gangwon Province to enjoy a getaway at a high-end residence specially built for them.
However, behind the facade of fame, fans wonder if the members of the boy group ever get to enjoy romance behind the camera. Although particular cultures in the Korean pop music industry keep idols from dating, their busy schedules are a no-brainer at top of the list of reasons they haven’t been in a public relationship, but here’s an inside look at their love lives now.
10 BTS Members’ Bonding Behind The Camera
The BTS we see on camera is the same BTS members behind it. Most of their bonds are playing board and mobile games, eating, and relaxing while sitting on their comfortable sofa, facing their television, and just laughing non-stop. Days like these often happen to the members as their schedules are always packed. But their togetherness is the best bond they have, may it be on or off-camera.
9 BTS Members Outside Korea
BTS has been known globally, holding the record as the first K-pop group to reach the “Artists with the most No. 1 hits on the #Hot100” this decade on Billboard Charts. They have been bagging numerous awards outside Korea since the year 2017 up to the present. They were the only K-pop group to have performed in 2020’s Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve countdown in Times Square. It was also reported that BTS and their agency, Big Hit Entertainment, supported the “Black Lives Matter” campaign by donating $1 Million.
8 BTS In The United Nations
BTS is not just a K-pop boy group that conducts world concert tours, they also leave an impact worldwide. In 2018, the group released their album entitled “Love Yourself: Answer” and after a month RM, the leader of the group, delivered his message of self-love to the United Nations. Just recently, the members were able to accompany President Moon to the United Nations as a “special presidential envoy for future generations and culture” to help shape the global agenda on sustainable growth and topics important to future generations.
7 RM's Marriage Rumors
Fans have been speculating about the leader of the group – Kim Namjoon, 27. He was spotted by the fans removing a ring from his wedding finger and changing it during interviews. He admitted having a girlfriend way back in high school and had a rumor about having a secret girlfriend in 2017. During an interview with Billboard, RM explained the outro of BTS' 'Love Yourself' album which caused fans to form various theories on what he meant with his message. However, none of these rumors have been proven true.
6 Jin And Lee Guk Joo
Jin, 28, had only one dating issue in 2015 with the comedian Lee Guk Joo. The rumor created a noise because the netizens found out that the comedian and Jin were close friends. The rumor was put to an end by Lee Guk Joo when she spoke out on Radio Star that Jin was never her boyfriend. Since then, Jin hasn't faced any other dating rumors.
5 Suga Supports LGBT Rights
Suga, 28, has been very vocal with his support of LGBT rights since 2014. He was asked what he first notices when looking at a girl and he responded by saying, “I focus on personality and atmosphere. I don’t have an ideal type, and it’s not limited to a girl.” He had a dating rumor with his fellow K-pop star Suran, but it was quickly denied. Suga is currently not in a relationship because, according to him, he’s too busy to date.
4 No Dating Rumors For J-Hope
J-Hope, 27, has never been linked to any dating rumor, unlike other BTS members. The only dating story he had was when he was in a relationship with a girl before becoming a BTS member, but they separated after the girl moved in with someone else. His ideal type is someone who loves to read, takes care of others, and is good at cooking. He desires someone who will support him and only think about him. Currently, J-Hope is single.
3 Jungkook’s Dating Rumors
Among all the BTS members, Jungkook, 24, has had the most dating rumors. He was rumored to date fellow K-pop artists Jeong Ye In from the group Lovelyz, also from the K-pop group DIA - Jung Chae Yeon, and Ko So-Hyun who was a trainee from CUBE back in 2015. But none of these were ever confirmed. In September 2019, Jungkook faced his biggest dating rumor with his tattoo artist after being caught hanging out with her. Eventually, the rumors were denied by the tattoo artist and Big Hit Entertainment. Jungkook also apologized to the fans for what had happened.
2 Jimin’s Ideal Type
Jimin, 26, described his ideal girl during an interview on Idols True Colors Radio, saying he likes someone who is cute and has odd charms. He elaborated that he likes a person who is a bit silly and is shorter than him. Jimin faced his biggest dating rumor with the K-pop star Han Seung-Yeon from the group KARA. However, it was never confirmed. Currently, Jimin is single.
1 V Is Single
Among the BTS members, V had the most recent dating rumor with a business tycoon’s daughter after attending the recent opening art exhibit in Korea. On October 14, 2021, the member mentioned this on his post and made remarks like “I will shoot poisoned needles at the back of their necks in my dream tonight. Watch the back of your necks.” and added on another post “Pathetic. I would like to sing ‘UGH’," clarifying that the issue is untrue.
HYBE Labels also denied it by releasing a statement saying that the family of the business tycoon are only acquaintances of V. V is single, and he does not want to be linked to any dating rumors.
