When most people think of Chad Michael Murray, they think of the charming Lucas Scott, part boy next door part outsider, from One Tree Hill. Murray has also starred in a few Hallmark Channel and Lifetime films where he played a romantic love interest who was absolutely swoon-worthy.
It's worth mentioning, too, that he was the male lead in A Cinderella Story. The role that had us all fawning over his charm and dual persona - the sporty guy mixed with the writer; the boy who could truly do both.
While those roles fit his personality and his looks quite well, he's also played roles with a darker side. Like the cult leader in Riverdale and has guest-starred in series like Scream Queens and films like Camp Cold Brook.
So when, just days ago, the trailer was revealed for Ted Bundy: American Boogeyman showing Murray as Ted Bundy, fans had mixed feelings about the project. Of course, die-hard Murray fans are going to tune in and know he'll be able to play the role, but some aren't as excited to see him play the serial killer.
While Bundy is one of the most notorious killers and rapists, and everything that he did to his victims makes him disturbing and disgusting; the thing is, he used his looks to charm women. So when actors like Zac Efron and Chad Michael Murray are cast to play him, it's to show that these killers can and do, use their 'looks' and 'charm' to rope people in.
