Chip Admitted The Biggest Disagreements With Joanna Took Place Over A Fixer Upper Home
As expected, Joanna and Chip Gaines had an entertaining conversation alongside Kelly Clarkson. Kelly clearly chose chaos during the interview, asking the couple about their biggest disagreements over the years while making Fixer Upper. Chip was eager to answer Clarkson, admitting Joanna wasn't thrilled with his choice of homes at the start.
"Early I would I buy these houses, and she would throw a kind of temper tantrum. I would bring her to this house, total no-brainer, it needed some work. Jo would just burst into tears."
Chip continued on, making both the audience and Kelly Clarkson gasp at his statement. "She was conservative. Really logical family that you got to college, and you don't go to jail." Clarkson interjects, "Hold on, that's stuff that a lot of people agree on, that's not weird."
Joanna also admitted that she was keeping composure while Chip was explaining himself. Clarkson then went after Chip, shocked that the couple was living in the fixer upper while it was being renovated. Certainly a moment fans had a blast with.
- Fans on YouTube reacted to the story, completely understanding the tough times:
- "Renovation, remodeling and especially hanging wallpaper has sounded the death knoll for many a marriage."
- "I love this couple. They bring me joy every time I watch Fixer Upper."
In truth, the couple experienced serious issues in their personal lives, particularly during their first year of marriage.
Both Chip And Joanna Gaines Admitted To Difficulties During Their First Year Of Marriage
Speaking with People, Chip and Joanna Gaines got serious, discussing their difficult first year of marriage. Chip admitted that flipping houses while having children caused a strain.
"In the first months of our marriage, we were always flipping a house. We were working on this little shop. We had babies early in the process. We pretty quickly had to say, 'We're either going to go at each other and blow this thing up, you and I trying to fight each other about every nook and cranny, or we can figure out how to come together as a team.'"
Despite the hard times, the couple managed to be there for one another.
"We've had our challenges. I don't want to belittle that piece of the equation," Chips says. "But Jo and I — I don't know if it's our hearts — we're aligned in this sweet way to where we've just always been there for each other."
Joanna Gaines admitted that growing together has been the best part of their ongoing journey.
