Appearing as Captain America, Chris Evans completely changed the trajectory of his career. He became a huge star in the superhero world, though it appears as though he isn't quite done.

In recent times, Evans has expressed interest in taking on a familiar role, but it isn't as Captain America. Let's take a look at the role and why he wants to take it on again.

Chris Evans Was Brilliant As Captain America

During his time playing Captain America in the MCU, Chris Evans established himself as one of the biggest stars in Hollywood. While there were some great contenders for the role, and it's proved to be the right choice, and because of him, the character is more popular now than he has ever been in the past.

Captain America was teased early on, and eventually, he debuted in the film Captain America: the first avenger. Many people love that film to this very day, but there are few who would argue the fact that the Captain America movies only got better over time.

Captain America's second solo affair would be Captain America: the Winter soldier, which is still regarded as one of the better comic book movies of its era. This was then followed by Captain America: Civil War, which managed to cross over $1 billion at the box office.

All of these films were successful, and this isn't even including the major crossover films and additional appearances that Evans made as the character.

Of course, those who have been following Evans for the length of his career are well aware of the fact that he began his time in the superhero genre many years prior while the genre was still finding its footing in Hollywood.

It Wasn't Hit First Rodeo Playing A Superhero

In 2005, Chris Evans starred as Johnny Storm in fantastic four, a movie that was released in the thick of superhero mania during the 2000s. This was the air that was largely started by X men, and while there were some really good films released during this time, they were also some duds, all of which help pave the way for what we get today.

Evans was much younger in his career back then, but he was still really good as Johnny Storm. If you want to take a look at contrasting personalities at Evans can play, give one of his fantastic four performance as a watch, and then followed up my watching one of his performance as Captain America. Evans can do a little bit of everything, and he really shined as both heroes.

In total, Chris Evans would play Johnny storm in two different fantastic four movies. The first one was much better than the second one, but overall, Evans was good in both movies, and people loved what he did with the character.

At this point, there are few other actors who are as iconic in the world of superheroes Dan Chris Evans, and recently, he made waves when he said that he would be interested in reprising one of his old comic book characters.

The One He'd Come Back For

According to Syfy, hen speaking with MTV News, Evans was asked about playing Johnny Storm again, especially now that the Multiverse is open in the MCU.

"No, no one's ever come [from Marvel] to me about that. I mean, I don't exactly look the same anymore. That was 15, almost 20 years ago. Oh my God, I'm old. But I really love that character, but I think… aren't they doing something now with Fantastic Four," Evans said.

He would then go on to say that it would be easier to play Johnny Storm again than playing Captain America.

"I mean, I guess all bets are off. Look, I would love it. I would love it. That would actually be an easier sell to me than coming back as Cap … Cap is so precious to me. And you know, I almost don't want to disrupt what a beautiful experience that was. But Johnny Storm, I feel like he didn't really get his day. That was before Marvel really found its footing. So I loved that role and, you know, who knows," he continued.
