Chris Hemsworth has opened up about the criticism 'Thor: Love and Thunder' got for its shabby humor, be it in dialogues or in the action sequences. Commenting on the feedback from the fans, Hemsworth admitted he, too, felt that the movie got a bit "too silly."

'Thor: Love and Thunder' became one of the least-rated Marvel movies on Rotten Tomatoes, with a score of 63% from the critics and 77% from the audience. Talking about the movie, Chris Hemsworth said, "I cringe and laugh equally at it. I think we just had too much fun." "It just became too silly. It’s always hard being in the center of it and having any real perspective… I love the process; it’s always a ride. But you just don’t know how people are going to respond," he continued.

The actor also recalled how the friends of his kids criticized the latest 'Thor' installment. "It's a bunch of eight-year-olds critiquing my film," he said. "We thought this one had too much humor, the action was cool, but the VFX weren’t as good.”

The Thor Actor Also Admitted He Got Sick Of The Character

The latest installment in the 'Thor' franchise wasn't the only thing that Chris Hemsworth wasn't happy about. He also opened up about getting fed up with the character itself. He said he went along with the character development over the years because of the different directors and his "own need to do something different." "You know, I got sick of the character pretty quick every couple of years," he claimed.

Apparently, Hemsworth wasn't the only one to criticize the Marvel movies. Elizabeth Olsen, who plays the renowned Scarlet Witch in the MCU, expressed how she actually felt about working in superhero movies. She advised upcoming actors who wanted to join the MCU to sign for only one movie. "Don’t sign up for multiple movies like I did, because I am clearly having the worst time imaginable wasting my best years on this cack,” she said.

The MCU Might Be Headed Down The Wrong Path

Multiple MCU actors have expressed their displeasure during or after working with the conglomerate. It seemed like after the first few films, the stars might've been putting up a show about being tightly-knit with each other. One instance that supports this is Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. unfollowing all his Avengers co-stars immediately after shooting the last film.

Besides, Chris Hemsworth also touched upon the issues of getting typecast after playing the same character for over a decade. After Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino's tough comments on the MCU actors, Hemsworth said he wasn't very happy about it. "That's super depressing when I hear that," he said. "There goes two of my heroes I won’t work with. I guess they’re not a fan of me."

Chris Hemsworth And Other Actors Who Did Their Own Crazy Stunts

Talking about working in the MCU again, Hemsworth said he is open to it. "If I was going to do something again, it would have to be tonally different," he said. "And we'd have to do something very drastic to keep people on their toes. Otherwise, it's just the fatigue of those characters and those films, where people are like, 'I've seen it.'"
