Tarek El Moussa and Christina Hall's separation was highly publicized, but they've sense moved on and are coming back to HGTV together.
Christina Filed For Divorce, But So Did Josh
On July 12th, Realtor.com carried an item hinting that Christina and Josh might be heading toward divorce, citing a speculative post on the HGTV subreddit (posted on July 9).
On July 13, E! News published a now awkwardly titled article, "HGTV Star Christina Hall Reveals the Secret Of Her Strong Marriage To Josh Hall."
The piece touched on Christina's past marriages to Tarek and Ant, but it kicked off with some advice from Haack/Hall on maintaining a healthy marriage.
Christina explained that "being communicative" was the key to a strong relationship:
"When Christina Hall needs something from her husband, she tells him.
"Simple as that, you ask? Well ... yeah.
"'Being communicative' was what came to mind when the Christina On The Coast star paused to consider what exactly bolsters the strong foundation she and her spouse of two years, Josh Hall, have built together.
"'Keep communication open ... and then having alone time when we can, whether it's date night, going on little trips —just things like that.'
"And if that all sounds pretty reasonable and decidedly uncomplicated, then the desired effect has been achieved.
Although Christina's advice was indeed "pretty reasonable" and "simple," the approach doesn't seem to have had "the desired effect," as three days later, TMZ reported that both Haack and Hall had filed for divorce.
Based on that report, it looked as if Reddit's notorious sleuths were right again.
The post speculating that Christina and Josh were barreling toward a divorce was posted on July 9, and TMZ reported:
"Christina Haack and hubby Joshua Hall are heading for divorce -- because he just made it official in court, signaling he wants to end their marriage ... but TMZ has learned Christina has also ran to court as well to do the same.
"According to the paperwork, obtained by TMZ, Josh filed for a dissolution of marriage Tuesday [July 16] in Orange County, CA ... citing irreconcilable differences. He lists the date of separation as July 8 ... just a week or so ago.
On the r/HGTV post, published one day after Josh's filed "date of separation," a user observed:
"Trouble in paradise? She took his name out of her bio on instagram. He doesn't have hers either, but [I'm] not sure if he did before.
"They both have solo profile pics now. I feel like Christina also maybe deleted some photos of them, but not all.
"She's been hanging out with her friend Kristin a lot these past few days. No [birthday] post from Josh either. Is divorce #3 in the works?"
A commenter agreed, joking: "It’s crazy that HGTV has been her longest relationship[!]" Another compared her to the oft-married Zsa Zsa Gabor, and a third said she was "going to end up married [six] times."
In terms of signals Christina and Josh's marriage was in trouble, another Redditor claimed:
"I just went to her Instagram and watched her grid refresh in real time, and most pics of him disappeared before my eyes. 🤯 This will be awkward with several season premieres coming up ..."
Per TMZ, Josh is requesting spousal support (or alimony) from Christina, adding that he "asked the court to eliminate her ability to collect from him," and that he requested all rights to content the couple mutually produced.
