Christina Haack Reveals Tarek El Moussa's Mom Didn't Want Her To Marry Him

Christina Haack's relationship with her ex-husband and former in-laws is unconventional, but it works for them. Christina is currently working with Tarek El Moussa and his wife Heather on The Flip Off, and on the second episode, Christina opened up about her relationship with her former mother-in-law, Dominique El Moussa-Arnould, who will be one of the judges on the show, along with her own mom.

This led to some revelations about her relationship with her mother-in-law, both during and after her marriage, and most importantly, what Dominique really thought about the Christina on the Coast star marrying her son.

Christina Haack Opened Up About Her Relationship With Tarek El Moussa's Mom

When Christina and her teammate, Kylie Wing, discussed Dominique El Moussa's role in the show, Christina reassured Kylie that they shouldn't worry about Dominique favoring her son, because the two of them were actually good friends.

"We have a very good relationship. She even told me not to marry him and to marry the dog. For real," she revealed.

Christina opened up more later in a confessional, explaining how, after the divorce, she and her mother-in-law had become even closer, to the point where she feels she would choose her over her own son.

"I have a long history with Tarek’s mom. She’s traveled with me post-divorce of Tarek, me and the children. We talk on the phone. I definitely feel like I’m her favorite."

It says a lot that Christina and Tarek have stayed friends to the point of being willing to work together on a reality TV show, and knowing that she stayed so close with Dominique as well speaks volumes to Christina's character.

Tarek Is Being Supportive Of Christina Through Her Latest Divorce

Last year, Christina Haack initiated her divorce from her husband Josh Hall, who was initially also supposed to be in The Flip Off, and since she separated from him, Tarek and Heather have been very supportive.

"Life's tough, s*** happens," Tarek said last year. "We got one shot at life and we gotta do what's best for us, so whatever she needs, we're here to help."

However, it was later revealed that the friendship between Christina and Tarek actually played a role in the divorce, as Josh was apparently jealous of the father of Christina's children. Even when they interacted about things related to their kids.

"You make him very insecure," Christina explained during the show. "Every time we would barely joke at soccer or if I laughed at you, he would not speak to me for two or three days. I would get the silent treatment."

And Josh didn't stop at that. According to Christina, he would resort to verbal attacks as well.

"He doesn’t like me. He calls me cocky. He thinks I’m arrogant, when we both know I’m not cocky or arrogant and I just do work."

He also didn't like that, when they met, Christina's last name was still El Moussa, and convinced her to become Christina Hall. Her confessions shocked Tarek, who took the time to comfort her.

"You’re not any other those things. He’s projecting. You’re a great mother, a great daughter. You are a great human," he reassured her.

While Tarek and Christina's relationship obviously didn't work out, it's really meaningful to see that they managed to build such a strong and healthy friendship, both with each other and their families.
