90 Day Fiancé has become such a fan-favorite reality TV series that it's spawned multiple successful spinoffs. One that viewers have been especially loving is 90 Day: Hunt for Love, which brigns past 90 Day stars together in a tropical paradise for a second shot of love with each other.

Season 1 features several fan-favorites, including Chantel Everett, Tiffany Franco, Tim Malcolm, and Usman "Soja Boy" Umar, to name a few. But one longtime 90 Day Fiancé star who's truly ready to find love is Colt Johnson. Just as Colt was beginning to form a promising connection with Cortney Reardanz, he suffered a frightening accident that required an ambulance ride to the hospital.

Colt Johnson Suffered A Scary Fall On 90 Day: Hunt For Love

Finding love among other 90 Day Fiancé reality TV stars on the spinoff, 90 Day: Hunt for Love was cut short for Colt Johnson after he suffered a scary incident in Episode 8.

During the episode, the cast learned that Colt was being taken away by paramedics after suffering a fall and hurting his leg. Colt, who was forming a connection with Cortney Reardanz, had recalled what had happened that morning as he was in her room "having breakfast and chatting and stuff."

"I looked out my door, and he's lying on the ramp outside of my door," she shared. Cortney added that it was raining that day and Colt had slipped. At first, she thought it was a joke or that Colt was playing a prank. However, she realized that it was a very serious accident.

Colt Johnson first appeared on 90 Day Fiancé Season 6 with his then-fiance, Larissa Lima, from Brazil.

As Colt was being taken away in an ambulance, he told his castmates that he had reinjured his bad leg. According to Screen Rant, Colt first broke the same leg in December 2022, while filming on a trampoline for 90 Day Fiancé. According to his former fiance, Vanessa, Colt needed five surgeries and the two were supposed to star in the spinoff, 90 Day: The Last Resort, but were replaced by Molly Hopkins and Kelly Brown.

Once back at the hotel in Episode 9, Cortney reflected on how "emotionally exhausting" it was to see Colt in distress and hurt.

"The past 24 hours have just been exhausting, emotionally I feel like, I've just been hit by a semi. I just came to the cenote to try and get my mind of things because my mind is with Colt right now."

She also shared that while at the hospital, she told the staff she was his wife so that she was able to be by his side. "We’ve been telling the hospital I’m his wife so I could go in the rooms with him," she said.

Additionally, she told her cast mates that Colt had to be moved to a bigger hospital in Playa del Carmen because of how complex his leg injury was. When the others asked Courtney if Colt would return, she was skeptical. She shared that the doctors needed to find a special surgeon who knew how to handle Colt's injury.

Making the situation more dire, Colt asked Courtney if she would contact his mom, Debbie, if he were to "die under anesthesia."

"Everything just seems too insignificant right now. How can I have fun when one of my closest friends here is in a hospital bed," she confessed, adding that Colt would always be there for her. "That's a lot to process."

In a preview for the following episode, it looked like Colt returned to the show, although it's not known if he was back in Mexico. A scene showed him and Cortney sharing a kiss.

Colt Shared An Update On Instagram After His Frightening Injury

In July, Colt shared X-ray images on Instagram of the leg injury he sustained while filming 90 Day: Hunt for Love. The photos revealed just how severe the injury was, showing the extensive hardware that had to be inserted into his leg.

After the episode aired, Colt shared images and video of him laying on a hospital bed after surgery on Instagram. In his caption, he stated how he was worried about transferring to a different hospital as to not cause "internal bleeding." However, he was met with great care while in Playa Del Carmen.

"The first hospital they took me, in Tulum, could not handle my injury so they moved me to Playa Del Carmen, an hour away. It was very dangerous because my fractures could have caused internal bleeding if moved too much," he began.

"Thankfully, the hospital I had my surgery in was very good and everyone there were very professional and kind to me. They treated me with the upmost care and made sure all my needs were met. I felt like I was very lucky to have such a great team work with me during this difficult period."

He added, "You may notice me strapped with a fentanyl patch to my back. That and the MoPo were always on point."

Did Cortney And Colt Date After 90 Day: Hunt For Love?

Throughout her journey on 90 Day: Hunt for Love, Cortney found herself caught in a love triangle with Colt and Usman “Soja Boy” Umar. When Colt was rushed to the hospital, Cortney chose to stay by his side, leaving Usman to question whether she was still interested in pursuing their connection. In the following episode, Cortney appears to be at a crossroads between the two men, but a kiss shared between her and Colt suggests their bond might be growing stronger.

In a recent interview on YouTube with Melicia Shae, Cortney shared that she didn't expect to find a best friend in Colt, especially after watching his 90 Day journey which saw him feud heavily with his mother, Debbie, and have unhealthy relationships with his partners.

"What do women see in him? I didn't get it. I don't know, it's like an emotional connection. I think we have a deep, emotional connection," she told the host.

It's unclear whether Cortney and Colt took their newfound connection into the real world, as neither of them posted photos with each other on social media — except for photos when they were filming the show. However, it appears that in the little time they had, they did form a solid connection.

90 Day: Hunt for Love, Season 1 airs new episodes every Mondays at 8/7c, TLC.
