When looking for the perfect show to binge-watch next, our automatic instincts usually bring us to Netflix's Top 10 or, of course, the tried and true classics we've been rewatching for years already. However, when we do this, we could be missing out on some epic television. Back in the days of cable TV, Comedy Central was an excellent channel that supplied us with all the laughs we ever needed.
Even though many of us have moved onto bigger and better things like streaming services, Comedy Central's top quality comedies shouldn't just be forgotten about. The channel does have an app where full episodes of their best shows are available and it's also quite easy to get a live stream directly on your device. Now that everyone knows how to find these great shows, we figured we'd run down the list and inform everyone on which are really the best.
15 Amy Sedaris Is Jerri Blank
Strangers with Candy is a Comedy Central original and it's without a doubt the most iconic thing Amy Sedaris has done so far. The series is meant to mock retro after school specials, as it stars Sedaris as Jerri Blank, a woman who very badly lost her way after dropping out of high school, though is giving it another go at the age of 46.
14 Nora From Queens Is Still Finding Its Footing
This Comedy Central original just premiered back in January 2020, so we're going to need to see a bit more before we can officially rank it any higher. The series stars comedian Awkwafina as Nora, who is a fictionalized version of herself. So far, the series has received mostly positive reviews and has already been renewed for a second season.
13 Tosh Keeps It Real
It's wild to think that Tosh.0 has been on since 2009. He's been hilariously reviewing pop culture and trends for over a decade now! Considering these hot topics seem to only be getting crazier by the day, we're thinking his job will be safe for a while. This is a series to check out if you want a hilarious take on things like Tik Tok or random social media challenges.
12 Drawn Together Found Its Audience
Oh yes, Comedy Central does animated series, too! Drawn Together ran from 2004 until 2007, for a total of 3 seasons. The idea was to recreate already known animated characters, though with a more adult edge. While all kinds of raunchy, the show has collected somewhat of a cult following, so if adult cartoons are your thing, it's time to check it out!
11 Everybody Loves A Good Roast!
Comedy Central Roasts are TV specials most have probably heard of by now. The network releases 1 or 2 per year and since there is always a new celeb in the hot spot and new rosters on the panel, they can be hit or miss. If you're interested in seeing the best, check out Rolling Stone's ranking of Comedy Central Roasts.
10 Matt Groening Takes On The Future
Futurama is a classic. It can often be found on lists of the best animated shows for adults. While it did originally air on FOX alongside its brother, The Simpsons, in 2008 it was picked up by Comedy Central. The story follows a pizza delivery boy who wakes up 1,000 years in the future. Honestly, this show deserves more praise than it gets.
9 Trevor Noah For The Win
The Daily Show is Comedy Central's longest-running series, as it first premiered back in 1996. Currently, comedian Trevor Noah is the anchor, having taken over from the legendary Jon Stewart in 2015. If you're someone who enjoys being up to date on current events, but would rather laugh while learning about them, this is absolutely the news source for you.
8 Stephen Colbert Knows His Stuff... Kind Of
Technically, we're ranking The Daily Show and The Colbert Report together. Both are hilarious satirical news programs being lead by world-class comedians and funnily enough, both actually have an 8.4 rating on IMDb. The Colbert Report is more political, though Colbert won't leave any current issue untouched. This guy is an absolute legend.
7 Jordan Peele Before Get Out
While many now know Jordan Peele as the director of hit movies like Get Out and Us, before he was a hot-shot movie maker, he was a king of sketch comedy. Peele and his co-star Keegan-Michael Key both starred on Mad TV back in the day, until coming together and giving us this gem. Key & Peele ran for 5 seasons and it's easily one of the best sketch comedy offerings out there.
6 Workaholics Is A Comedy Classic
We all know that when it comes to office based sitcoms, The Office is always going to rank #1. However, it's truly a shame that Workaholics doesn't get the same kind of love. The show ran from 2011-2017 and with the likes of Adam DeVine, Blake Anderson and Anders Holm writing and starring in it, we have nothing to lose but laughs by not watching!
