On February 6th, Southern Charm's Craig Conovor gave his first interview since his split from Paige DeSorbo. Appearing on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the reality TV star gave his version of events that led up to their shocking breakup.
Prior to Craig's interview, Paige told her listeners on her Giggly Squad podcast that she and Craig ended their 3-year relationship during Thanksgiving weekend. In a December 2024 episode where she announced their split, she detailed that their breakup was mutual. However, Craig didn't see it that way. In fact, everything Paige had stated since their breakup seems to be inaccurate according to the pillow maker.
Here's everything he's had to say about their split and why he refuses to comment on whether Paige cheated on him.
Craig Conover Believed Paige DeSorbo Was Having "A Bad Night" When She Asked For A Breakup
Craig Also Revealed That Their Split Was Not Mutual As Paige Had Announced
Craig Conover's appearance on WWHL gave fans a totally different version of events that led to his breakup with Paige DeSorbo. For those following the details of their breakup timeline, in a February 3rd Giggly Squad podcast episode, Paige revealed that the couple broke up during Thanksgiving weekend in 2024.
Paige's version of events did not add up to Craig. Speaking to Andy, he believed they were still a couple after Thanksgiving because of the Summer House star's actions towards him. While Paige did call him to break up after Thanksgiving, he thought she was just having "a bad night."
"She called me after Thanksgiving. I was in Toronto about to do a show and was like ‘I think we have to break up. And then we were like, well we’ll talk about it, and then that was after Thanksgiving. And then I stayed at the [New York] apartment that week, but she wasn’t there. But we were still FaceTiming, and she said, ‘I miss you’ and stuff but like that.”
“I thought she was just having kind of like a bad night or a breakdown. We’ve been together for three years ... I was going to move to New York and all that stuff. So when she called and broke up with me the last thing I was going to do was the next day when I was being interviewed, being like, ‘By the way like I think Paige broke up with me.’ I don’t know, I guess I was still processing it.'"
On her podcast, Paige shared that she allowed Craig to do "whatever he needed to do," to process the split—even allowing him to pretend they were still together while he did press for Southern Charm Season 10. But, according to Craig, while he was doing press in early December, he wasn't faking being with Paige as she suggested. In fact, he revealed that she wanted him to plan a trip together to Europe for New Year's.
"A week prior or two weeks prior, she asked me to plan us a trip to Europe for New Year’s. She also talked about our wedding in her mom’s kitchen. She made me promise we would never break up weekly," Craig spilled. It wasn't until sometime in December when the former couple met face-to-face that they officially ended things, per Craig.
"She was like, ‘Look I love you, but I love myself more and I have to go do this and find myself.'"
Craig Refused To Defend Paige Over Cheating Allegations
Craig Remained Silent As Paige Was Accused Of Scandalous Cheating Rumors
Andy Cohen wanted to clear up rumors surrounding Paige allegedly cheating on Craig. After the Summer House star announced their breakup, she was spotted with a mystery man at a Philadelphia Eagles NFL game. Adding more fuel to romance rumors, Southern Charm's Austen Kroll—while a guest on an earlier episode of WWHL—alleged that rumors Paige was dating right after she dumped Craig weren't rumors at all.
"I don't think those are rumors. I think that they've been substantiated, and I think that Craig knows as such. You know, he didn't know for a minute, but yeah, I think that he's fully come to terms with that. That's not a rumor," Austen told a very shocked Andy.
Paige slammed Austen's statement on WWHL's Instagram page. "Ahhh yes a man I haven’t spoken to in 6 months knows exactly what I’m doing."
Paige had to defend herself with regard to all the cheating accusations and even denied she was dating someone new. "No one’s sticking up for me on the other side," she shared on her February 3rd episode. In fact, even her Summer House co-stars labeled it "insanity" that Craig had not put them to rest.
However, while speaking to Andy, Craig did not deny or confirm the rumors. He just wanted to stay out of it.
"I don’t want to be involved. I got broken up with, I’m the ex-boyfriend now moving on with my life."
Craig continued, "I’m not going to get sucked into the mud with them like her [Summer House] cast. I’m sorry that I’m not reading Reddit every day and getting on there and defending her. Like, I never said you cheated, so I’m not a part of this.”
“I mean I think it’s fair for me to say it’s none of my business what she does anymore,” he added. “I wasn’t a part of any of the rumors, like I haven’t said a word," he added.
Some fans even agreed with Craig for choosing to stay silent.
The Aftermath Of Craig And Paige's Split Will Be Shown In Southern Charm Season 10
Cameras Picked Right Up After Their Fallout
The midseason trailer of Southern Charm Season 10 revealed that episodes will follow the aftermath of Paige and Craig's breakup. The trailer sees Paige seemingly foreshadowing their split.
While in Craig's car, he asks Paige, "When am I going to see you?" Paige then eerily responds, "Never, this is the last time you're ever going to see me, and you just don't know it."
Prior to the release of the midseason trailer, Episode 9 saw Craig revealing during a gentlemen's dinner at Miss Patricia Altschul's house that he was going to propose to Paige, and that she even picked out her favorite engagement ring.
Cut to the midseason trailer where Craig speaks to both Austen and Shep Rose, admitting that his ex-girlfriend asked him to purchase the wedding ring, meaning that they were finally heading towards the next stage of their relationship. But, that all changed.
"It's weird to, like, mourn someone that's still alive," Craig tells his pals.
Craig and Paige began dating in October 2021.
During his appearance on WWHL, Craig revealed that he went through several stages post-breakup that included sadness, anger, and even a little revenge when he created his Raya account.
"It’s been a whirlwind, but I’ve been sitting in it, listening to people be like, ‘Love isn’t enough.’ Guess what? Love is enough and I hate that I’m being drawn into that. If two people love each other, you’ll make it work," Craig shared.
"For all the long-distance people watching … like, we didn’t want different things, she just wanted other people and that’s fine. She didn’t want those things with me anymore and I’m not mad at her for that but I don’t like this ‘love isn’t enough’ thing because you’ll make it work."
