Throughout television history, there are lots of examples of actors that became known for one character and were never able to move past it. For example, Michael Richards will always be known as Kramer, everyone thinks of Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy, and many people believe that Alfonso Ribeiro actually is named Carlton.
In some cases, it makes perfect sense that an actor is known for a single role, as they never gave another performance of note.
