It is unclear which professional dancers will return for Dancing With the Stars season 33, but as of Aug. 29, one female pro is officially on the roster: Witney Carson.

Back in 2023, just weeks before season 32 of the beloved competition series commenced, Witney announced that she would not return to fight for the coveted Mirrorball Trophy, wanting to focus on family instead. Now—just about one year later—Witney is ready to put on her dancing shoes once again, announcing via Good Morning America that she will be making her highly-anticipated return to Dancing With the Stars this fall:

"Hi guys, it's Witney Carson. I am so excited to announce that I am coming back to Dancing With the Stars for season 33... Just you wait until you hear who my partner is. He will sweep you off your feet. We are so ready to get that Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy."

Who Is Witney Carson?

Carson has had quite the journey on Dancing With the Stars, making her debut during season 18, where her celebrity partner was teen heartthrob Cody Simpson. She returned for season 19 of the hit competition show—where her celebrity partner was The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actor Alfonso Ribeiro, who is now the host of the reality television series—ultimately emerging victorious.

Solidifying herself as a force to be reckoned with within the ballroom after just two seasons of Dancing With the Stars, Carson became a part of the next eight seasons, where her celebrity partners consisted of The Bachelor star Chris Soules, Big Time Rush member Carlos PenaVega, Zombies actor Milo Manheim, and more.

The Utah native failed to participate in season 29—as she was expecting her first child, Leo, at the time—returning for seasons 30 and 31, and skipping season 32.

Now, making her return for season 33 of Dancing With the Stars, it is unclear who her celebrity partner will be, but we are hoping that Carson is paired with the best of the best for her grand return to the reality television series. After all, she and Team USA gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik would make the perfect pair!

While Witney is the first confirmed Dancing With the Stars pro and Stephen is the first confirmed Dancing With the Stars contestant, it has also been announced that Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough will reprise their roles as co-hosts, and Bruno Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Derek Hough will reprise their roles as judges.

The rest of the cast will be announced on Good Morning America on Sept. 4. Season 33 will premiere on ABC and Disney+ on Sept. 17, so be sure to mark your calendars for both must-see moments.
