Since leaving his Hogwarts days behind, Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has proved to have a dramatic range in a series of bold roles.

Best known for playing the English wizard, the actor has recently weighed in on the parts he had fun playing since Harry Potter wrapped in 2010 — and those he’d love to take on in the future.

Daniel Radcliffe Is A Massive Fan Of Disaster Movies

Radcliffe appeared on Conan O’Brien's podcast to talk about his acting career and the turns it took since he has said goodbye to Harry Potter.

The idea of being typecast after starring in one of the world’s most famous fantasy movie franchises was scary, but Radcliffe said he was thankful to those directors who took a chance on him with challenging roles, like that of beat poet Allen Ginsberg in biopic Kill Your Darlings.

The actor is now starring in the anthology series Miracle Workers, created by Simon Rich and also featuring Steve Buscemi. Radcliffe said that being able to play a different character each season appealed to him.

“I played Harry Potter for ten years so I like the idea of not playing one character for a long time again if possible,” Radcliffe told O’Brien.

But there is a role Radcliffe would be interested in playing, or rather a genre he would love to have in his filmography: disaster movies.

“I love massive either monster B-movies or disaster B-movies,” Radcliffe said.

Daniel Radcliffe Reveals What Role He'd Play In 'Fast And Furious'

Despite not being a disaster movie per se, there is an action movie saga that Radcliffe would be happy to star in: Fast and Furious.

The actor said he “would love to be in a movie like that,” but there’s a caveat. Radcliffe made it clear there is only one type of role he would like to play in a movie à la Fast and Furious — and it’s the hardest to get in the franchise starring Vin Diesel.

“If I could have a non-driving part, that would be great,” Radcliffe said.

“I could do some of the admin, I’m sure they must need a lot of that,” he said.

The reason why Radcliffe wouldn’t want to play a driving part is simple: he just doesn’t enjoy it.

"Driving on camera is maybe the part about my job I hate the most,” he continued.

He explained that trying to hit a mark on set while driving is his least favorite aspect of being an actor.

And this extends to his life off-set too, as Radcliffe revealed he “barely” drives in real life.

"I have a license but I’m not good at it,” he said.
