Danielle Bregoli, a.k.a "Bhad Bhabie," went viral at the age of 13 as the “cash me outside” girl on Dr. Phil. Her 2016 episode on the show was titled “I Want to Give Up My Car-Stealing, Knife-Wielding, Twerking 13-Year-Old Daughter Who Tried to Frame Me for a Crime.” The episode showed her mother in distress because of Bregoli's criminal antics and shady friends.
The 13-year-old shocked the public with her foul language and aggressive behavior, which ultimately led to the “cash me outside, how 'bout dah?” catchphrase going viral. Bregoli later accused Dr. Phil of sending her to an abusive boarding school/work ranch for “troubled teens” in Utah, and knowing what was happening there despite claiming otherwise on social media.
And now Bregoli has shared some new information about her time with Dr. Phil.
Bhad Bhabie Alleged That Her Mom First Emailed Dr. Phil When She Was 2 Years Old
In a podcast interview with Emily Ratajkowski, Danielle Bregoli alleged that her mother had been emailing Dr. Phil long before the fated TV appearance, saying “I actually found out on my 19th birthday that my mom had been emailing Dr. Phil since I was 2 years old.”
Bregoli told Ratajkowski that she had seen one of the emails her mother sent Dr. Phil but she didn't remember its contents.
Apparently, her manager Adam Kruger discovered the extremely old email first.
According to Bhad Bhabie, her mom gave her manager the emails she had sent Dr. Phil, and one of the older ones was dated from March.
“She was like 'Oh, here's the email I had sent Dr. Phil'. And the one before that said 'something-something March 2005 or 2006.'”
Bregoli appeared to be upset about the discovery, asking the rhetorical question of what she possibly could have been doing that was "that bad" as a toddler.
Bregoli was born in March 2003. So the alleged date of this old email was around her 2nd or 3rd birthday.
Of course, the existence of the said email cannot be verified at the moment. But given the nature of Dr. Phil's talk show and allegations of how it exploits the mental illnesses of its guests, if the email exists, it's possible Barbara Bregoli wasn't writing to the show about her 2-year-old daughter. She had earlier revealed in an interview with Dazed that she had separated from her ex-husband (Danielle's father) in 2005.
In the Dazed interview, Barbara Bregoli also revealed how she had purchased a home in a “nice neighborhood of Boynton Beach” after the split. But she was unemployed at that time, so the purchase was based on her credit score.
In short, she was a struggling single mother when she allegedly sent the first email. And that definitely fits the demographic of Dr. Phil's show guests.
Was Bhad Bhabie's “Cash Me Outside” A Planned TV Stunt?
During her interview with Emily Ratajkowski, Ratajkowski asked Bregoli if the producers of Dr. Phil told her to behave a certain way to “make good TV.”
“Oh my god, yes,” Bregoli said. “I still think about that to this day!”
Apparently, it was a female producer who walked up to Bregoli and told her – “Whatever you feel like you need to do out there, do. Punch, kick, spit.”
Bregoli believed that the woman had seen clips of her smoking cigarettes and spitting, which is why she told her to act out that way. But she explained that she only spits out while smoking because “Newports taste like the bottom of somebody's foot.”
When Ratajkowski pressed a second time and asked if she did “put on a show” during the episode because it was the underlined expectation, Bregoli said no.
The jeering audience just made it worse.
Bregoli then gave the example of the widely circulated clip where an older woman in the audience called her a derogatory name.
Danielle Bregoli Revealed She Felt Lost After Dr. Phil Sent Her To The Utah “Troubled Teens” Ranch
When Emily Ratajkowski asked Danielle Bregoli about her time at the Turn-About ranch in Utah that Dr. Phil sent her to, she revealed how she returned home with more emotional and mental trauma after her stay at the boarding school and rehab facility.
“There was nothing therapeutic about [the ranch].” Bregoli described how her experience at the facility made her so hopeless that she leaned toward self-harm.
“I wrote my mom one time and told... 'You ain't gonna see me ever again.'”
She also said that when the ranch found out about her attempts at self harm, they made her “sleep on the floor for four days.”
Bregoli came forward with her abuse experiences in 2017 after she found out about Hannah Archuleta, another teenage guest on Dr. Phil's show, who was sent to the Utah ranch and later sued CBS and Dr. Phil, stating she was intimately abused as “a punishment” at the facility.
Dr. Phil was widely “cancelled” on the internet once the news spread. But he and his team denied any knowledge of what was happening in the ranch.
The public didn't buy his denials though. Bregoli had revealed how her mother had signed a release that allowed the facility to send progress reports to the show.
