After Bijou Phillips previously dated Sean Lennon according to reports, she reportedly met Danny Masterson at a Las Vegas poker tournament. From there, Masterson and Phillips reportedly became a couple in 2004.
After dating for roughly five years, Masterson and Phillips got engaged in 2009 and then walked down the aisle in 2011. Roughly three years after Masterson and Phillips walked down the aisle, she gave birth to the couple's daughter.
Together ever since, Phillips has stood by Masterson throughout the horrible allegations. Based on all the publicly available information, Phillips and Masterson's family seems as close as ever.
Why Is Danny Masterson's Wife Bijou Phillips Controversial?
During Bijou Phillips' career, she has never been as famous as her husband Danny Masterson. Despite that, the fact remains that Phillips has enjoyed a very successful career as an actor.
An extremely talented character actor, Phillips has appeared in the show Raising Hope and movies like Bully, Almost Famous, Hostel Part" II, and Choke. Unfortunately, Phillips has been open about going through hard times when she was young.
According to reports, when Bijou Phillips was only 13 years old, her older half-sister Mackenzie Phillips told her she'd had an extremely inappropriate relationship with the father they shared. Then throughout her teens and early twenties, Bijou battled an addiction to illegal substances.
When Phillips was still an addict, she made a movie called Bully which costarred Daniel Franzese who came out as gay in 2014. Years later in 2017, Franzese accused Phillips of being ab*sive to him during the making of that film.
"She body-shamed me and ridiculed me about my s*xuality and physically a***aulted me." According to Franzese, Phillips repeatedly harmed him.
Worst yet, Daniel Franzese said that on one occasion Bijou Phillips kicked him in the head so hard that he questions if it caused a concussion.
In response to Franzese's allegations, Bijou Phillips publicly apologized to the Mean Girls actor in a statement. After citing the addiction issues she went through, Phillips stated that the time span when she made the movie Bully is a blur.
Still, Phillips never questioned Franzese's version of events, she revealed that she'd apologized to him privately, and she did the same thing publicly. Clearly a classy person, Franzese wrote on Twitter at the time that he accepted Phillip's apology.
Shortly after the Bully controversy had seemingly calmed down, Franzese appeared on Heather Matarazzo's podcast "Shut Up and Listen". During the resulting conversation, Matarazzo told Franzese about her own problems with Bijou Phillips.
According to Matarazzo, when she made the movie Hostel: Part II, Bijou Phillips assaulted her.
As Matarazzo revealed during her podcast appearance, she was a year sober during the filming of Hostel: Part II. Matarazzo went on to say that one of the film's producers tried repeatedly to get her to fall off the wagon.
Amazingly enough, Matarazzo claims that on one occasion Phillps witnessed the producer pressuring her costar. Instead of sticking up for Matarazzo, Phillips allegedly began choking Heather and exclaimed “I’m going to make you relapse on this film”.
After Matarazzo's allegations went public, there were no accounts of Bijou Phillips reaching out to apologize and she never denied the accusations.
