Anyone who has watched the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the Guardians of the Galaxy films in particular, will know that Drax is not someone to mess with. He is a strong and fierce hero who is capable of shrugging off large amounts of damage and displaying incredible feats of strength. Yet, this version of the character is not a true representation of the power that the character has in the comics.

The reincarnated spirit of human Arthur Douglas, Drax was created by Thanos’ father Kronos with the dedicated purpose of killing the Mad Titan. During the decades since his introduction, the character has traveled across every corner of the Marvel universe and encountered cosmic heroes and villains while also working with the likes of the Avengers. In that time, he has demonstrated an ability to defeat and more than match almost everyone he has encountered, including these characters.

15 Ronan The Accuser Wouldn’t Stand A Chance Against The Comic Versions Of Drax

While Ronan the Accuser is a formidable foe in the MCU, the way that he effortlessly takes down Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy is not representative of the hero’s true power. In the comics, he would probably swat aside Ronan the Accuser without too much difficulty.

14 He Once Punched Straight Through Thanos’ Chest

Drax the Destroyer was essentially created with the sole purpose of defeating Thanos. The character hunts down the Mad Titan for decades, across a variety of stories, and despite being attacked by all sorts of opponents he manages to survive. At one point in Annihilation #4, he even kills Thanos by punching him straight through his chest and ripping out his heart.

13 Drax Stood Against Captain Marvel

In the comics, Drax has shown he is capable of standing against the original Captain Marvel. His durability and extraordinary strength allows the hero to withstand the power of Captain Marvel, meaning he would probably also best the MCU version of the cosmic character in his comic form.

12 Captain America Would Not Be Able To Put Up A Fight

Although he is a capable fighter and an undoubted hero, Captain America is still just an augmented human. Whereas Drax the Destroyer is a being capable of immense feats of durability that Steve Rogers would not be able to overcome.

11 The Destroyer Can Control The Power Gem

While the Power Gem is not technically a character, it is an immensely powerful item that has played a major role in the Marvel universe. Drax the Destroyer is one of the few characters who has been able to wield the Power Gem without sustaining damage after being entrusted with it by Adam Warlock.

10 Wolverine Would Be Easily Beaten By Drax

Wolverine has an incredible healing factor and expert fighting skills, but Drax the Destroyer is almost certainly still more durable. In a straight fight, Wolverine would just not be able to inflict enough damage to put Drax down. He can simply shrug off the kind of attacks Wolverine would be able to dish out.

9 He Can Hold His Own Against Loki

While Loki has a few tricks up his sleeve to help him in battles, his strength is not all the remarkable. Even powered-down versions of Drax the Destroyer would be able to defeat the Asgardian trickster if it came to a straight fight thanks to his martial fighting skills.

8 Even Iron Man’s Weapons Wouldn’t Help Him Against Drax The Destroyer

The main way in which Iron Man fights is to utilize his arsenal of weaponry in his armored suit. But they would not be able to slow down or cause any damage to Drax, as the character just has too much durability. Once he got within range of Iron Man, he would quickly take him down without too much of a struggle.

7 Drax Could Beat His Fellow Guardian Of The Galaxy, Star-Lord

Although he regularly works with Star-Lord as part of the Guardians of the Galaxy, if it ever came to a fight, there would be little the leader could do against Drax the Destroyer. Drax is basically an unstoppable force that Star-Lord would be unable to damage.
