The Audience Turned On Dave Grohl When He Revealed It Was Time To End The Show Early

Dave Grohl is without a doubt one of the top performers in the world. However, like other artists, Grohl has faced difficult situations on stage. One in particular resulted in the Foo Fighters getting booed after a Dave Grohl threat.

The situation at the festival took a turn from the start after Grohl personally requested to play in the small tent stage, instead of the main stage.

Grohl revealed, “I said ‘no way!’ It was really our first show there and I didn’t want us to arrive and headline the main stage. It made no sense to me. I said, ‘No, we’ll play this tent and if things get out of control then I’ll try to control it, I’m sure it will be fine."

He continues, "As we were setting up the gear I looked out into the tent and it was packed. There were people climbing the rafters, scooting up those tent poles, there were thousands of people trying to get in from outside, and it was chaos. We started playing and it was so hot in there."

Given how hot it was in the location, mixed with the chaotic atmosphere, Grohl decided to cut things short. However, this did not sit well with the fans and promoter.

"I was watching the security guards passing out from the heat, so I’d look over to the promoter and he’d say, ‘We can’t do this. You’ve got to stop’. I’d tell the audience, ‘We can’t do this, we’ve got to stop’, then there was all this booing and it felt like there was going to be a riot, so then the promoter keeps going, ‘No! F***, keep playing! Keep playing!’”

A disastrous situation to say the least but thankfully, it was not a theme throughout Grohl's career.
