David and Victoria Beckham’s new Netflix documentary has been making waves, and perhaps not for the reasons they were hoping. David’s alleged mistress Rebecca Loos has given her first interview in nearly 20 years, and she stands by the claim she originally made in 2004.
“He is making himself a victim and he is making me look like the liar,” she claimed to Daily Mail. “He’s making me look like I made up these horrible stories and that I’m the one who made [his wife] Victoria suffer. Poor him. He had nothing to do with it. It’s so awful.”
David Beckham’s Mistress Sticks By Her Original Allegations
Rebecca admits that the media attention around their alleged tryst has been difficult for everyone involved, but she stands by her story.
“The stories were horrible, but they were true, and he’s the one responsible for all of this,” Rebecca explained. “He’s the one who’s responsible for his wife suffering. He’s the one that decided to lie to her and say, ‘We don’t have to tell my wife.’ He made all those choices.”
She also revealed how she wishes David handled the situation. “It’s his behavior. If he was going to touch on this time and how difficult it was, it would’ve been really nice for him to say, ‘Not my proudest time. It was a tough time for us,’” she went on. “Or something like that. Just a little bit of acknowledgment. Or none at all – don’t even touch the subject.”
Rebecca Loos Reveals How She Wishes David Handled Their Alleged Affair
“If he had just called me and said, ‘I am so sorry, how can we fix this?’ things would’ve been so different,” Rebecca continued. “But I was made to look like a liar. I felt like I had to continue to defend myself.”
In Beckham, released via earlier this year, David and Victoria reflected on the affair allegations that rocked their world in 2004 when David was temporarily in Spain for his football career, while the Spice Girl remained in the UK with their young kids. Rebecca was hired as David’s assistant during the time.
Rebecca went on to give an interview in 2004 with SkyOne, making a series of revelations about the alleged affair.
"It was clothes off, get the action done and out within half an hour," she explained. "I felt really cheap, I felt used. I felt like a bit of a prostitute,” she continued. "By the time it was over, it was very difficult to deal with. I was besotted by him."
Both David and Victoria have maintained that Rebecca’s allegations are false over the years, including in the new documentary.
"The world was attacking us and we were against each other,” Victoria said onscreen “Even in Madrid, we were together, but we didn't feel each other's support. I can't describe how it affected us. I have never been so unhappy in my life.”
David chimed in, adding, “Victoria is everything to me. To see her hurt was incredibly difficult, but we’re fighters, and at that time we needed to fight for each other, we needed to fight for our family.”
So far, the Beckham family hasn’t commented on Rebecca’s latest interview.
