2022 has blessed us with a few star-studded celebrity weddings, from Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker’s Italian nuptials to Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s Vegas wedding, 20 years in the making.

In April, Brooklyn Beckham, the son of former Spice Girl and fashion designer Victoria Beckham, and football star David Beckham, tied the knot with his partner of a year and a half, Nicola Peltz.

The two were wed at a lavish affair that took place at Peltz’s family estate in Palm Beach, Florida. Several celebrities were in attendance, including Gordon Ramsay and Eva Longoria. The newly married Beckhams shared photos from their big day, for which Peltz wore a Valentino Haute Couture gown.

They later shared a few sweet details from the event, and Brooklyn Beckham revealed that his parents had some stellar advice for the couple ahead of their big day.

How Long Have Brooklyn Beckham And Nicola Peltz Been Together?

People reports that Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz officially started dating in October 2019, however, they didn’t announce their relationship to the public until a few months later. On October 29, 2020, they celebrated their one-year anniversary.

The press got wind of the budding relationship when Beckham and Peltz were spotted out at dinner after they attended a Halloween party hosted by Leonardo DiCaprio. By early 2020, the pair were Instagram official, posting steamy photos together and often engaging in PDA.

They made their public debut as a couple on February 25, 2020, at the Saint Laurent runway show during Paris Fashion Week. Fans noted that they color coordinated their outfits.

An engagement followed in July 2020, around six months after they announced their relationship. "Two weeks ago I asked my soulmate to marry me and she said yes," Brooklyn shared.

"I am the luckiest man in the world. I promise to be the best husband and the best daddy one day. I love you baby xx."

Fast-forward to April 9, 2022, and the pair officially tied the knot with a black-tie celebration. The couple’s families were in attendance, including Peltz’s parents, businessman Nelson Peltz and model Claudia Heffner.

Beckham’s parents, David and Victoria Beckham, also attended the ceremony, along with their other children, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper. The Beckhams reportedly gave their son some wise advice ahead of the nuptials.

The Advice David And Victoria Beckham Had For Brooklyn Beckham

In August, around four months after tying the knot, Beckham attended the Variety Power of Young Hollywood event, where he spoke exclusively with E! News. He revealed the sweet advice his parents gave him:

"Just love each other, try and not worry about anything, and keep working,” Reportedly, the couple also told the newlyweds to "just try and have fun."

Coming from the long-married Beckhams, that's quite surprising advice. Perhaps the stresses of everyday life didn't impact their marriage, but is having fun really the secret to a long-lasting marriage?

When asked about how he’s finding married life so far, Beckham confirmed that he’s having a ball. "I have my best mate with me all the time, so, it's amazing."

The publication reports that Beckham paid tribute to his wife earlier in the year with a new tattoo. The ink depicts her eyes, which have been tattooed to the back of his neck.

"My wife has gorgeous eyes, and I was like, 'Why not?'" he explained of his decision to get the tattoo. He also had the word “married” tattooed onto his hand.

How The Peltz Family Also Influenced The Beckham Wedding

While the Beckhams gifted their son loving advice ahead of his wedding, the Peltz family may have also had an influence on the couple.

In an Instagram post Peltz re-shared in August, photos from her wedding to Beckham could be seen alongside photos from the wedding of her parents, which took place in 1985.

"Our always inspo," Peltz wrote under the post, which confirmed the similarities between her wedding and that of her parents.

Claudia Heffner asked her daughter’s bridal seamstress to sew in an evil eye to protect Peltz on her wedding day, and also included an embroidered message that read, “Nicola, my heart. You are me, I am you. All my love, all my life, my beautiful girl, inside and out. Love, mom.”

Despite confirming their post-marital bliss, Beckham and Peltz have been forced to fend off rumors of a rift between Peltz and Beckham’s mother, Victoria Beckham. The rumors began to circulate after Peltz wore a wedding dress that wasn’t designed by her mother-in-law.

Peltz dismissed the rumor, confirming that she had originally wanted to wear a Victoria Beckham dress, but the stars didn’t align.

"I was going to and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realized that her atelier couldn't do it, so then I had to pick another dress,” Peltz explained (via Hello).

Brooklyn Beckham also dismissed the rumors, insisting that everyone “gets along.”
