Actor Chris Pratt is no longer a must-want actor in the eyes of fans, and they have no problem showing it. A user on Twitter announced on Dec. 3 that Pratt was cast to play the voice of the Grinch for an upcoming ABC special, and supported it with an image of the announcement from The Hollywood Reporter. Social media couldn't help but voice their anger over the casting choice following the announcement.
Not too long after the news leaked, it was confirmed that no such special was happening, and that the Guardians of the Galaxy actor was not planning on voicing the Grinch anytime soon. Social media also confirmed that most people who searched the internet to see if it's true spotted a picture of Pratt in his underwear, a photo taken for a 2010 episode of Conan.
Although social media took a bit of a breather, the commotion is still not over yet! Twitter has since continued to discuss their opinions of Pratt, and how he is being cast in too many movies that don't suit him.
Social Media Went Ballistic At Chris' 'Casting'
Most of Twitter has begun to send ugly messages towards him. One user has even suggested that he received his roles because of the women he's been married to. He is currently married to Katherine Schwarzenegger, and was previously married to fellow actress Anna Faris.
Other users however have used the comedic approach as a response to the prank. Most have made up their own ideas of new films that will be coming out, to which they say Pratt will play a main character in the film. Most of them have written their tweets in a way where you can see it as an announcement from the news, with one even adding a fake link that includes The Hollywood Reporter.
Chris' Upcoming Animated Roles That Isn't The Grinch
However, social media jokes aside, Pratt is currently preparing to star in two animated films. The actor is first set to play Mario in the untitled Mario film, and Garfield in the untitled Garfield film. His first movie will be released in 2022, while his second has not yet announced its release date.
Other than his work in animation, the actor will be reprising his role in the upcoming film Jurassic World: Dominion, and will once again play his role of Peter Quill/Star-Lord in both Thor: Love and Thunder and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. His first two films are scheduled to be released in 2022, while Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be released in May, 2023.
