Some have speculated that Wayne Brady has been living with his ex-wife and her boyfriend. As a result, Brady has been straightening things out. Putting things right, he's explained that he was quarantining with his ex-wife Mandie Taketa, their daughter and her boyfriend, Jason Fordham.
Instead of all living in one house, the four shared a bubble of two homes during lockdown. Although they had each other through quarantine, it wasn't under one roof.
Brady told People, "I think this has been blown up into something that maybe it isn't. I think that the picture is I'm living in one house with my ex-wife and her boyfriend, and my daughter and that's not the case. We live next door to each other, or a few homes away from each other, and we are keeping our isolation just to our two homes."
He continued, also mentioning the fact that they were keeping things close to home. "We aren't going over to anybody else's house, we aren't going out to supermarkets, so we have an extended bubble of just our home. So we are the core four."
The Masked Singer winner added, "no, we are not sleeping in the same bed."
Brady also revealed to Page Six, "It was weird that it was considered unusual. That's just our family. And we aren't like that because we put our daughter first." He continued, stating, "we work together, we love each other, we are a family."
Brady will also help co-parent the son of his ex-wife and her boyfriend, Jason.
Why Did Wayne Brady And Mandie Taketa Split?
There are many celebrity couples with marriages that end in ugly divorces. This wasn't the case with the Dancing with the Stars contestant and his former wife.
Brady told Yelp, "You have to establish a work-life balance. I'm a cautionary tale. He also stated, "if you don't pay attention to your home life, what are you working for?"
He continued, "Luckily my ex-wife is my best friend in the world, and we have our production company together, but we couldn't remain married because I wasn't tending to the fires at home."
It appears the biggest problem within their marriage was Brady's work, something he tells Yelp himself. "If you don't manage your relationships, and your focus is just making it all, all of this will fall apart. You'll lose the things that you're working for."
As well as having a great relationship with his ex-wife, Brady has become great friends with her new boyfriend too. In the interview with Page Six, Wayne has said, "I love Jason. He's a member of our family, so we have something that is out of the ordinary".
He went on to continue, "but it's a shame that it is out of the ordinary because it would be great if we could have more relationships built out of years of trust and love, and you can move on if you need to move on."
It would appear Brady, his ex-wife and her boyfriend are handling everything in a loving, mature manner!
