When a job in social media, it's all about securing brand deals to make money. This is easier for some more than others, especially when the influencer in question is Kylie Jenner, with millions of followers.
However, there have been plenty of times when Kylie and the rest of the Kar-Jenners have signed a brand deal that has created a lot of controversy, such as Kendall Jenner's controversial Pepsi advert. For Kylie, one of these was a lot closer to home. It started with a brand deal and ended with a feud with her former brother-in-law and music mogul Kanye West.
Kanye Reportedly Helped Kylie Get Her First Modeling Gig
Prior to their feud, Kanye was trying to be a helpful brother-in-law by getting his sister-in-law her first-ever modeling gig.
A year before the feud between them occurred, Kanye decided to take a chance on Kylie, and he enrolled her as one of his models during his show at New York Fashion Week, which also happened to be Kylie's debut on the runway.
This was the start of Kylie's modeling career and in more recent years, fans have been saying that Kylie should be the model of the family as opposed to Kendall, but that doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon.
Why Was Kanye Mad At Kylie For Her Puma Deal?
Back in 2016, Kylie and Kanye found themselves in the middle of a difficult situation when it came to a brand which Kylie had recently signed a deal with and whom Kanye completely disagreed with. That brand deal was with Puma.
It was during this time that Kanye was working with Adidas and with Puma and Adidas being rival brands, Kanye apparently wasn't too happy with Kylie working with them. Not only that but what also came to light was that Kris Jenner had reportedly gone behind his back with the entire deal.
Not only did this create a bit of frustration between Kylie and Kanye, but it turned out that the whole family was less than pleased with the news. While they seemed somewhat happy that Kylie had signed such an amazing deal, what they were mostly unhappy with was how the entire thing came about.
Khloé said that she had wished that either Kylie or Kris had gone to Kanye first to tell him about the deal so that he didn't have to find out in any other way. This is fair enough as while it may be about business, they were still family at the end of the day.
This was especially made even worse by the fact that Kris never told anyone, and they had to find out at the same time as the rest of the world. So not only had she gone behind her family's backs, but she had also left them to find out with the general public.
What also wasn't helped was that Kris had initially tried to negotiate a deal with Adidas at first for Kylie, and given that Kanye also had a deal with them at the time, it could have caused an issue with any negotiations he went on to have with them.
This ended up with Kanye going on a rant about the situation on Twitter, saying that Kylie and Puma were never going to be a thing and that Kylie was 100% on his team. He then told Puma that they were going to give them their money back because their money wasn't going to split the family up.
However, it seems that Kanye was a bit premature in his declaration that Kylie would drop a brand deal (worth millions) to appease her brother-in-law. At the same time, most of the "feud" was over Kylie previously being the model and face of Yeezy.
Kanye clearly saw that as an affront to his brand and his plans.
Later, though, Kanye stated that he was, "mad for a little bit" but later was happy for his sister-in-law and her Puma deal.
What Else Have Kylie And Kanye Feuded Over?
The Puma deal isn't the only thing that Kylie and Kanye have fought over, as there was another more recent issue that came to light that could have affected presidential matters.
This occurred back when Kanye was planning on running for US President in 2020 and instead of supporting him, Kylie appeared to offer her support to Joe Biden instead.
Kylie reposted an Instagram story made by Michelle Obama to her own account and despite deleting it after a few minutes, given the amount of followers she has, it was plenty of time for people to view it and word soon got back to Kanye about the entire fiasco.
Whilst it's unknown how much drama (if any) this caused, given that Kanye was mad about Kylie's Puma deal, he was unlikely to be thrilled in any way about her showing support for a political rival.
