The celebrity world is full of quirky personalities and, admittedly, questionable choices. And when it comes to the latter, Nick Cannon's name comes up often. The veteran dad shared in early 2022 that he was expecting his eighth child, and the public clamored to comment on the situation. Each time Nick announced another baby — and often an additional baby mama — social media went wild. People have heavily judged the actor for his choices, and while Nick has explained why he wants to have so many kids, the judgment hasn't let up.But there are other celebrities who have as many (or more) children as Cannon does, including one very big name.Elon and Grimes quietly welcomed their second child (together) in 2021, but Musk already shared five living children with an ex, bringing his total to seven. After the tragic passing of Nick's infant son in 2021, he too has a total of seven children.Of course, only one of these celebrities is razzed in the media about how many kids he's fathered. The only question is, why?
Elon Musk Has Seven Living Children (Including Multiples)
Though Elon's first child, Nevada, tragically passed away due to SIDS in 2002, he later welcomed five healthy children with his ex-wife Justine Musk. The five children included a set of triplets and a set of twins, all conceived via IVF.
In 2020, Elon fathered his first child with Grimes, then their second arrived in 2021 via surrogate. So, Elon Musk has fathered eight children total, with two separate women.
While the public seems to enjoy criticizing Musk's professional life, with judgment over his banning remote work with Tesla and Space-X, less is said about his personal life. Though fans didn't love his youngest son's name, and were unsure about his choice of partner in musician Grimes, there wasn't as much of an uproar as occurred when Nick Cannon began sharing more about his journey to fatherhood.
Nick Cannon Has Seven Living Children (Including Two Sets Of Twins)
Like Elon, Nick Cannon has also welcomed eight children, with six surviving and another child on the way as of June 2022 (with model Bre Tiesi). His first two children were with his then-wife Mariah Carey, and between a total of four baby mamas (soon to be five), Nick also has a second set of twins and a few singletons.
Nick admitted he hates monogamy, even after being married to Mariah Carey, so while fans do appear to judge him for having multiple partners, he's been very vocal about his arrangements with his children's mothers.
Though some of Nick's children's moms don't seem keen on discussing their relationship (or lack thereof?) with Cannon, a pregnant Bre Tiesi outright stated in an interview that she and Nick are not monogamous, and they are both okay with it.
Clearly, by now, any woman who gets involved with Nick is probably privy to his views on monogamy and, well, procreation. So if the women are okay with welcoming multiple children with Nick, sometimes concurrently with other women, why is the public up in arms?
Both Elon And Nick Take Care Of Their Kids Financially
Since Nick Cannon and Elon Musk were both married, at one point, to the mothers of some of their respective children, custody and child support arrangements obviously exist. And because there haven't been any court cases publicized, to date, that reveal any refusal to support or acknowledge their kids, it seems like both men are taking responsibility for their unconventional families.
This seems to be a top concern of online commenters, but Redditors also speculate over how much involvement Nick has with his existing kids. Many commenters pointed out that with the sheer volume of children Nick has, not to mention the fact that the kids all live with their mothers primarily, there aren't enough hours in the day for him to connect on a deep level with any one child.
Still, the same could be said of Elon engaging with his kids; specifically his older children, one of whom recently rejected any connection to her famous father in a very public way. Yet Nick is villanized more than Elon.
Nick Might Be Expecting His 9th Child In 2022
Regardless of what onlookers have to say, and despite Nick Cannon's claims that he may have a vasectomy soon, it seems he's still happy to continue creating children. TMZ reported in early June 2022 that Abby De La Rosa, the mother of Nick's second set of twins, is now expecting her third child with him; Nick's ninth overall.
Sure, that will mean Nick has outpaced Elon in the fatherhood department (unless of course, the rumors are true and Amber Heard's baby is Elon's?), but are they really so different from one another? Critics do seem to think so, despite the fact that Elon and Grimes apparently want at least two more children together in the future...
