Together, the couple has two children — daughter Ava Elizabeth Phillippe born in 1999, and son Deacon Reese Phillippe born in 2003. A quick scroll down Ava's Instagram feed (which has over 500 posts) will also reveal that the model hasn't posted any photos of her dad in a while, in fact, the latest one was posted in 2016. In comparison, Ava shares plenty of photos of her mother Reese on her feed, as well as photos of her brothers Deacon and Tennessee.
Ryan Phillippe, on the other hand, is following his 22-year-old daughter, but a scroll through his feed will also reveal that he barely posts any photos of Ava — the most recent one he shared was for her birthday in 2018. The actor definitely shares a lot more images of his son Deacon which could imply that he has a much closer relationship with him. In fact, Ryan and Deacon are frequently spotted out and about together doing fun father-son activities, while Ryan is rarely spotted in public with Ava.
Ava Elizabeth Phillippe Is Closer To Her Mother, Reese Witherspoon
When Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe got divorced, the actress asked for joint legal custody and sole physical custody of their two children. This means that Ava and Deacon spent more time with their mother growing up, however, their father was also a big part of their life.
Today, it certainly seems as if Ava is much closer to her mother than her father, and the fact that she doesn't follow Ryan on social media has also fueled rumors that the two don't get along well. Considering that Ryan Phillippe hasn't wished his daughter a happy birthday publicly definitely made the rumors seem even more real.
However, it is impossible to judge Ava and Ryan's relationship solely based on their social media interaction. Whenever asked about his daughter, Ryan Phillippe only has nice things to say. He revealed that she has his personality and that she is incredibly proud of her influence on social media.
"Well, she has an incredibly famous mother and a moderately famous father, but that’s how that works. And also social media is largely driven by the youth and the associations made within that group. She’s incredibly talented."
In an Instagram story post, Ava revealed that she is very grateful for her parents, but she does think her life would have been different if they weren't famous.
“That said though, I wouldn’t change a thing. The good and the not-so-good all made me who I am and gave me so many amazing opportunities. And my parents get to what they love which is super cool."
