It's well known that the demise of the Brown family, primarily the marriages, has been ongoing for quite some time. In the earliest years of the Sister Wives show, a friend of patriarch Kody Brown even predicted the ending of the marriages. Now that his third wife, Christine, has remarried, many have wondered how her ex-husband feels about the new man in her life.
Fans have seen that Kody Brown harbors a great deal of resentment towards the actions that led to his divorce from Christine. Therefore, many expected that he would be angry about the 2023 nuptials of Mr. and Mrs. David Woolley. However, the formal response given during a tell-all on TLC provided some surprising feedback to audiences.
Kody Brown Feels Strongly About David Woolley
Kody and Robyn had thoughts about Christine Brown's new husband
During a December 2023 airing of a Sister Wives one-on-one interview, Kody Brown was asked about many aspects of the previous season of his family's reality show, including how he felt about his ex-wife's new husband, Christine Brown.
Kody admits that he has only spoken to David for around 15 minutes in total, with Robyn also in attendance. He continued to tell the interviewer that he felt Christine and David were a good match and that Robyn spoke to David more during their meeting and felt that he was very sweet.
Although Kody has nice things to say about David, he has continually painted a negative picture of Christine and the actions that led to their divorce. Confessionals on the show have displayed that Kody bears very little responsibility for the breakdown of his marriage and family. Instead, he places all the blame on Christine.
Besides his anger at the way the divorce played out, he also expresses strong feelings about the way Christine treated her fellow sister wives, primarily Kody's fourth wife, Robyn Brown. Kody states that Christine never treated Robyn with respect and didn't make an attempt to welcome her or her children into the family.
Christine Met David One Year After Her Divorce
Christine is now remarried after splitting from Kody Brown
In November 2021, Christine Brown publicly announced via her social media channels that she and Kody had divorced. The following season of their reality program, Sister Wives, showed how the relationship ended and how the divorce process played out.
The first of three Brown family separations, Christine took the next year to explore single life. When she felt comfortable entering the dating scene, she initially worked with a matchmaker to find likeminded individuals.
Although she didn't feel a rush to settle back down, Christine met David a few months into her dating journey. From early on, she felt the two had a connection she didn't feel in her previous relationship. The reality television actress took her time introducing David to the rest of the world, first posting him in an Instagram photo.
Within a few months of making their relationship official, the two were engaged. Christine and David's wedding took place in October 2023 in Moab, Utah. Many members of the extended Brown family were in attendance, including Meri Brown's child, Leon, and the majority of Janelle Brown's children.
While Now Supportive, Kody Wasn't Always Positive
Kody Brown's approval of David Woolley was surprising
Fans of the Sister Wives show were a bit surprised to hear that Kody Brown was in favor of the marriage between Christine and David. Because of the comments that Kody had previously made, including in the same tell-all interview where he voiced his support, those who tuned into the show thought his commentary would be more negative than positive.
Kody has been a staunch believer that Christine has to trash-talk him to David in order to make her own relationship work. By making him look like a horrible person to David, he is willing to invest in his relationship with Christine. Kody further states that if David knew that Christine had left a good husband and relationship, he wouldn't want to move forward and enter into a commitment with a person who could just up and leave at any time.
Christine and her new husband have moved forward, even purchasing a new Utah home for their family.
Kody continues to sort out the drama associated with his other wives, including his estranged second wife, Janelle, and his first wife, Meri, whom he is currently separated from. Additionally, the relationships between him and many of his adult children have become strained throughout the years due to Brown's strict COVID-19 protocols and the disrespect the father of 18 felt when some of his kids wouldn't abide by them.
