After ruling the roost in Hollywood during the '80s, Bruce Willis is battling dementia and Sylvester Stallone is starring in a reality show with his daughters. For his part, Dolph Lundgren continues to be a movie star even as he has been battling cancer.
Perhaps one of the reasons Lundgren doesn't seem to be slowing down is his daughter and the young wife he married in July 2023 keep him vibrant. While there is no doubt that Lundgren has a close relationship with his daughter, Ida, and wife, Emma Krokdal, the real question is whether they get along with each other.
Who Is Dolph Lundgren's Much Younger Wife Emma Krokdal?
In the years since Dolph Lundgren rose to fame, he has been linked to several women either through rumors or confirmed relationships. Some examples of the women who've reportedly played a role in Lundgren's life include Janice Dickinson, Grace Jones, and his ex-wife Anette Qviberg.
After Lundgren and Qviberg walked down the aisle in 1994, they remained married until their divorce was finalized in 2011. The former couple's daughter Ida Lundgren was born in 1996 and their second daughter Greta Lundgren came into the world in 2001.
Looking back at Lundgren's life, there is no doubt that his relationship with Qviberg had a huge impact on him. That said, Lundgren and Qviberg's marriage didn't garner a lot of headlines since there was nothing overly remarkable about their relationship.
On the other end of the spectrum, there has been a lot of interest in Lundgren's relationship with his second wife. The reason for that is simple, Lundgren's wife Emma Krokdal is almost four decades younger than the movie star.
Of course, Lundgren is far from the first celebrity who has dated, gotten engaged to, or married someone much younger. Gabrielle Union has even been open that she is bothered by the 9-year age gap between her and her husband Dwayne Wade.
Still, the almost forty-year age gap between Lundgren and Krokdal is so massive that it is hard to understand how they even got involved, to begin with. According to what Krokdal told Men's Health magazine, the couple met when she was working.
“Dolph and I met at the gym where I worked, and we just hit it off right away.” As Krokdal went on to explain to Men's Health, her relationship with Lundgren isn't what most people would assume since she is the one who has to slow him down.
“When we train, he works hard, and he barely rests. Sometimes, I must tell him to rest because he’s always ready to go. Generally speaking, Dolph always wants to do more, but I tell him he shouldn’t do too much because he’s in the building phase right now, so he needs to put on muscle after his surgery."

According to reports, Krokdal has been by Lundgren's side throughout his medical difficulties since they became a couple. Considering Lundgren says doctors told him he had two to three years to live at one point, and he sensed they didn't believe he had that long, being there for him would have been a big deal.
On Instagram, Krokdal has celebrated Lundgren for having a fighting spirit throughout everything he has been dealing with. "I’ll say it again, real life super hero right here. On screen and off screen 👊🏻❤️" Krokdal posted that tribute to Lundgren only days after he revealed his cancer battle to the world.
In May 2023, Lundgren spoke about Krokdal when he appeared on the talk show In Depth with Graham Bensinger. During that interview, Lundgren remarked that he believed Krokdal "was like an angel that was sent down to help me".
While that quote makes it clear how much Lundgren values having Krokdal in his life, many people want to know about the couple's age gap. While Lundgren admitted their age difference is "severe" in that interview, he explained why their relationship works.
"I feel like Emma is very mature for her age, for sure. She's had an interesting life. She came over here from a small town in Norway. She was married here and she went through a difficult divorce and went through a lot of stuff that most young people her age don't have to deal with."
Lundgren continued, "So she's quite mature and at the same time, I think I'm quite youthful. But you know, I've been with people that are twice her age [who are] less mature than she is."
Does Emma Krokdal Get Along With Dolph Lundgren's Daughters?
When Dolph Lungren has spoken about Emma Krokdal in the past, he has obviously defended their relationship to the press. However, there is no doubt that the people Lundgren really wanted to accept his relationship with Krokdal are his daughters Ida Lundgren and Greta Lundgren.
Fortunately for Lundgren, it appears that Krokdal gets along well with both of his daughters. While talking to Men's Health, Krokdal spoke about getting to know Greta Lundgren as they train together.
“It’s been great getting to know Greta, and Dolph has been taking us through some boxing sessions. We get along great! She’s super sweet and easy to get along with.”
In addition to Krokdal's comments during that interview, there are other reasons to think she gets along with her stepdaughters. Since Krokdal and Lundgren became a couple, she has been seen with his daughters in public on more than one occasion.
In 2022, Krokdal got to go to her first red carpet event with Lundgren. At that event, Lundgren, Krokdal, Ida Lundgren, and Greta Lundgren all came in matching yellow outfits. On top of that, when Krokdal uploaded a photo of the event on Instagram, she looked right at home with the Lundgren sisters.
In July 2023, the paparazzi captured photos of Lundgren on vacation in Greece with Krokdal and Ida Lundgren. Lundgren, his wife, and his daughter were all photographed poolside seemingly having fun.
