Donald Trump's Extra Long Tie With Stephen Colbert Was Worn To Give A Slimming Effect, According To New Jersey Governor, Chris Christie

The interview has 17 million views on YouTube. Clearly, a conversation between these two individuals won't ever happen again, at least on camera. Colbert revealed he has no interest in bringing Trump back, while the former President referred to Colbert as a "no-talent guy" following their interview. The chat is must-watch stuff, as Colbert pokes fun at Trump's idea to build a wall. At that point, Trump getting elected seemed laughable, especially to Colbert's audience.

Fans noticed something else from the interview, and that was the size of Donald Trump's tie. This seems to be a signature of Trump, wearing an oversize tie. That was on full display during his chat with Stephen Colbert. The tie remained a mystery for years until former New Jersey governor Chris Christie released the memoir, Let Me Finish. In the book, Christie finally solves the mystery of Trump's long ties. Christie writes that Trump's long ties were advised during his 2016 Presidential election run, in an effort to make him look slimmer. In fact, Trump himself advised Christie to wear the longer tie, telling him that he needed to lose weight if people were going to take him more seriously.

“You gotta look better to be able to win," Trump said.

Donald Trump was also put on blast for his own tie production after David Letterman exposed the fact that they were made in China.

Stephen Colbert proved why he is among the elite hosts after an interruption during his Late Show interview with Nancy Pelosi.

As for the interview itself, Colbert didn't find Trump interesting at all, especially behind the scenes prior to their conversation. "I did once. I wouldn't want to anymore," Colbert said. "He was actually kind of disappointing. He played 'the reasonable man.' He's always kinda in persona mode. Sometimes he plays, like, the 'rallying populist' and other times he plays the 'reasonable man." Colbert continued, "Backstage, he's just like some guy you might meet at a club. I mean 'country club,' not like disco. He's very clubbish and he's kind of innocuous in a way. There's nothing particularly remarkable about him."

Donald Trump's interview with Conan O'Brien proved to be a complete nightmare. Once again, Trump was rocking his signature suit, though things took a turn after Conan asked the former President to reveal what he had in his pockets. Trump was completely embarrassed and tried switching subjects. It didn't work, and he was forced to a show a condom he had in his pocket.

Conan recalled, "I saw his face change, and I could see that he didn’t want me to know what it was. So I reached over and I was like, “Come on, come on.” I made him pull it out — and it was a condom. He said, “Practice safe sex everybody.”

Although Trump was upset over the moment, his anger didn't last. "He was pissed. He was really mad. I went to commercial. He stood up. I don’t think he said goodbye to me, and he walked over to my producer and said, “That’s the last time I’m gonna be on this show. He humiliated me in front of everybody.” He stormed out. Cut to me seven more times [over the years]: “Ladies and gentlemen, Donald Trump!” He got over it, clearly."

Similar to Colbert, Conan won't have Trump on again. In his view, Trump hurt comedy.

“I’m really going on a limb here saying: That’s his greatest crime, that I think he’s hurt political comedy by being so outlandish himself. I think the January 6 thing is a blip compared to how much he’s hurt comedy. When Trump came along, what a lot of people have to revert to is: ‘Doesn’t he suck? I hate that guy. He’s an a------.’ And those aren’t jokes.”

Conan isn't the first, nor will he be the last host to ban Donald Trump.
