Musk has shown his admiration for Kanye in the past. Another tweet posted by @PPathole unearthed an excerpt a Time article from 2015 featuring Musk's opinion on West. Musk responded to the tweet by simply saying, “Yup.”

In addition, Kanye and Musk seem to be good friends. On July 1, Kanye posted a picture of the two of them hanging out at Musk’s house.

In 2019, Kanye announced that he would run in 2024 at theFast Company's Innovation Festival. He added that he was considering using the name Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West. The audience laughed.

"What y'all laughing at?" he said. "When I run for president in 2024 we would have created so many jobs I'm not going to run, I'm going to walk."

The hip-hop artist has been criticized for his political views. His friendship with Donald Trump created a negative view of the artist among Black Americans.The two discussed West running for president. Trump said that Kanye "could very well be" a future presidential candidate.

Kanye implied that he was going to vote for Trump in theMay 2020 issue of GQ.

“I’m definitely voting this time. And we know who I’m voting on,” he said. "And I’m not going to be told by the people around me and the people that have their agenda that my career is going to be over. Because guess what: I'm still here!"

If he wants to run for president, he would have to do it as an independent.According to ABC News, voters won’t be able to cast their ballot for the hip hop artist in Indiana, Maine, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, and Texas. The deadline has passed to file and you won't be able to vote for West. Unless you want to write him in.
