By the time Elvis Presley passed away, the famed singer was only 42-years-old. Considering all of the years that Elvis spent as a superstar and everything that he accomplished, it seems incredible that his life ended so early. However, since he remains a legend to this day and people still think about him, it can be argued that he will live forever.

Since Elvis Presley remains a legend, new facts come out about him on a semi-regular basis even though he passed away decades ago. More than that, the world continues to learn about Elvis’ marriage to Priscilla Presley. Sadly, it turns out that thanks to the continued interest in their marriage, it has become clear that Priscilla has some terrible facts to reveal about Elvis.

Updated on February 22nd, 2023 by Abigail Thomas: Despite being dead for over 45 years, Elvis Presley continues to be one of the most famous musicians the world has ever seen. His legacy lives on through his music, and new generations continue to discover Presley's talent. In 2022, a biopic about Presley's life as a performer and relationship with manager Colonel Tom Parker was released. The film was critically acclaimed and is now nominated for several Oscar Awards in 2023. The film did not, however, really focus on Presley's marriage to Priscilla Presley. Director Sofia Coppola is creating the film, which will star Cailee Spaeny and Jacob Elordi as the Presleys. The film is based on Priscilla Presley's memoir Elvis and Me.

Elvis Presley Cheated On His Wife

In the years since Elvis Presley passed away, his ex-wife Priscilla Presley has been asked about the man repeatedly which makes sense since she was married to a legend. While speaking about Elvis, Priscilla has repeatedly made it clear that she is loyal to his legacy and isn’t interested in helping anyone who wants to make her ex-husband look bad. However, when Priscilla is interviewed by the right person, she has been frank about her marriage to Elvis.

Even though Priscilla Presley continues to be loyal to Elvis Presley’s legacy decades after his passing, it turns out that he wasn’t faithful to her during his life. In fact, when Priscilla spoke to the Sunday News in 2018, she admitted that Elvis habitually cheated on her and that is what put an end to their marriage.

“He wasn’t faithful. I tried to turn my back to that, but I just didn’t want to share him … As much as he wanted to be married and have a family, I don’t know if he was ever cut to be married. Because I don’t think he could ever be faithful to one woman.”

The Abuse Allegations Against Elvis Presley

When Elvis Presley met the person that would become his one and only wife, he was 24-years-old and Priscilla was only 14. While that is disturbing on every level, it is especially gross when you learn about the reports of why Elvis was attracted to a girl that young. According to what has been said of Elvis in the past, he was attracted to Priscilla when she was 14 because he felt he could “train” her to be the woman he wants both in the bedroom and outside it.

Whether or not Elvis Presley was indeed attracted to Priscilla Presley because he thought he could “train” her, the fact remains that he tried to control her. In fact, according to Priscilla, Elvis wanted to control every aspect of the way she looked down to her fashion choices and even what she did with her face. The reason why Elvis wanted to control Priscilla’s face is that he worried that when she furrowed her brow, it would make her wrinkle early. As a result, Priscilla says that when he saw her furrow her brow, Elvis would “slap [her] on [her] forehead and say: ‘Don’t do that, it gives you wrinkles on your forehead.’”

On top of slapping Priscilla Presley’s forehead, it turns out that Elvis was prone to pulling out a weapon when he got mad as she revealed while talking to The Guardian in 2015. “It’s funny now. But scary at first. Very scary. There was no warning. Maybe he was in a bad mood that day, or maybe he would just see someone he didn’t particularly care for so he’d just pick up the gun and …”

Elvis Presley Once Forced Himself On Priscilla Presley

In life, few things are more difficult than getting out of an abusive relationship and speaking about what you went through in public. While nobody has the right to expect people to talk about their truth, it is a good thing when celebrities speak about being in abusive relationships. After all, when a star talks about surviving abuse, it gives their fans who are going through that pain the ability to no longer feel alone.

In 1986, Priscilla Presley released a memoir titled “Elvis and Me: The True Story of the Love Between Priscilla Presley and the King of Rock N' Roll”. In that book, Priscilla revealed that when he suspected that she had cheated on him, Elvis forced himself on her while saying; “This is how a real man makes love to a woman.” Years later, Priscilla was asked about that incident in 2015 and responded by in part saying “Elvis and I had a truly loving relationship” while still standing by what was written in the aforementioned book.

Sofia Coppola Creating Film Priscilla

While the 2022 biopic Elvis, which stared Austin Butler and Tom Hanks, was a huge success, Priscilla Presley was not a large character in the film. Their relationship was hardly touched upon, and director Sofia Coppola wants to give her the voice she deserves.

Coppola is writing and directing the film Priscilla, which will be based off Priscilla Presley's memoir Elvis and Me. The film will star Cailee Spaeny as Priscilla and Jacob Elordi as Elvis. Unlike in Elvis, Priscilla Presley and her relationship with the musician will be the focus of the upcoming film.
